This is a welcome revisit on the subject due to a number of changes to the requirements including the team taking Defender of the Broken Isles out of the mix just yesterday. This handy dandy guide should give you all the information you need to unlock flying as quickly as possible.

World of Warcraft – One More Roadblock to Legion Flying Removed

Blizzard has taken stock of player feedback about the World of Warcraft achievement called “Defender of the Broken Isles”. This achievement was part of the “Pathfinder Part 2” achievement that would unlock flying on a player’s account. The achievement required players to complete a demonic Assault in each of four regions. The issue came as a result of the “cyclical Assault” schedule that would make them appear at random times for limited duration.

World of Warcraft – Bot Maker Bossland Loses Again, Set to Pay Blizzard $8.6M

As reported in March, Blizzard filed a lawsuit against bot software creator Bossland. It appears that the cheat software company has lost another lawsuit to Blizzard, this time at the hands of a California court that has ordered the company to pay out $8.6M for “copyright infringement, unfair competition and violation of the DMCA’s anti-circumvention provision”. It is possible that Bossland will also be required to pay Blizzard’s legal fees to the tune of an additional $177k.

World of Warcraft – Undocumented Monster Scaling Addressed, Hotfixes Deployed

Earlier today, we reported that players had discovered an undocumented addition to the v7.2 World of Warcraft update. Without prior testing on PTR or inclusion in the patch notes, it was found that monsters’ health pools and damage were increasing according to player iLevel. As a result, the best geared players were unequipping items to mitigate the increase and many in the community were loudly protesting the change.

World of Warcraft – Monsters Scaling with iLevel – Undocumented Change Explained

The Blizzard team has posted a lengthy explanation on the World of Warcraft community forum about of a previously undocumented change in v7.2. Monsters are now scaling to a player’s iLevel rather than character level as before. There are issues with the system, however, in that players who remove an item see a change in the health pool of the monster they are fighting. The post addresses both the undocumented change and the item removal “bug”.

World of Warcraft – Return to the Broken Shore to Launch March 28th

Big news for World of Warcraft fans with next week’s launch of the v7.2 patch, Return to Broken Shore. Players will work through a number of quests as they retake the initial locations where Legion began. Cooperative effort will be applied to construct defenses including a Mage Tower, Command Center or Nether Disruptor, each providing various boosts to players or special opportunities such as the acquisition of an artifact relic through a difficult solo mission.

World of Warcraft – New Artifact Appearances to Require a Solo Test of Will

The World of Warcraft community site has been updated with a brief look at a new series of solo quests to gain a special artifact appearance. These quests will only be available during times on the Broken Shore when the Mage Tower is active — which is only for three days before it is destroyed. Eligible players will receive a quest to take on a difficult opponent, a very difficult one that, when beaten will yield the new appearance.
