Big news today for World of Warcraft players. Blizzard has announced plans to allow players to purchase game time with gold! Similar to the PLEX system in EVE or C.R.E.D.D. in Wildstar, you’ll soon be able to purchase a WoW Token from the auction house using gold that can be consumed for 30 days of game time. This is huge.

World of Warcraft: The Adventure Continues Beginning Tomorrow
The World of Warcraft site has been updated with a new blog post called "The Adventure Continues" that is a nice little write up of some of the additional features coming in tomorrow’s v6.1 update. The post is designed to introduce players to some of the new content for their followers and themselves.
World of Warcraft: Patch 6.1 Headed to Live Servers February 24th
World of Warcraft will be updated with the much-anticipated v6.1 patch on Tuesday, February 24th. The patch brings some major features into the game including support for the color blind, Twitter integration, an heirlooms collection tab, the updated Blood Elf models, improvements to existing character models, and anti-aliasing / lighting improvements.

World of Warcraft: Players to be Twitterpated Soon
When the World of Warcraft v6.1 patch goes live later this spring, players will be able to use Twitter from within the game. The in-game app allows for text-only Tweets but also gives the ability to take, crop and send out image-based Tweets as well. The app will be available in the ‘social’ tab of the main interface and will require players to authenticate their Twitter account to allow integration with WoW.
