This week we learn about a new Warcraft project, World of Warcraft: Chronicle and take a look at what’s next for the raiding scene with the Blackrock Foundry.

Earlier this week, it was revealed through datamining the latest PTR version of World of Warcraft that something called a Veteran Account would perhaps be introduced at a later time. Speculation ran rampant that this might mean that lapsed subscribers would be able to play their characters but with heavy restrictions, perhaps also leading to a F2P model of WoW. However, Community Manager Bashiok has explained its true meaning.

World of Warcraft players ready to move on from the Highmaul raid will be happy to hear that Blackrock Foundry will open the first wing on February 3rd. Both Normal and Heroic levels will open that day, with Mythic a week later and Raid Finder on February 17th.

Busy little dataminers have been combing through the World of Warcraft v6.1 patch that is currently live on the public test realm. Among expected new items, quests and achievements, is the interesting tidbit that Twitter integration will be included, new video display options, and that Garona will become a player’s legendary companion.

Blizzard has partnered with Dark Horse Comics to bring a series of World of Warcraft books that will help fill in lore gaps and reveal new information about the foundations of Azeroth and much more. Called "Chronicles", the first volume is due out in November 2015 with subsequent titles to follow at a later time.

As with all things World of Warcraft, simply hitting the level cap is not the end of the journey, though many might expect it to be. So what should one do upon reaching level 100? We’ve got a few ideas in mind that can still bring months of quality time to WoW players.

In an interview at WarcraftMovieFans.com, Duncan Jones, director of the Warcraft movie currently in post-production, has hinted that there may be more films in the works with which he will be involved.

In late October I wrote a column that was an attempt at humor. In it I listed the top 10 reasons to look forward to the Warlords of Draenor expansion for World of Warcraft. Now that Warlords has been out for over a month I want to go back and take a look at how much of my humorous list actually holds up under the stress of use.

The World of Warcraft site has been updated with a new post that takes a brief look back at 2014 in WoW and, even more interestingly, a gigantic look ahead at what 2015 will bring for players.

Right from the get-go, it needs to be said that Warlords of Draenor is a fantastic expansion. It has hit many of the right notes in all the right ways beginning with the stat and skill pruning that has been much discussed over the last year or so. Players have fewer skills, but better ones overall. Traveling through the world on the way to 100, fighting in both normal and heroic dungeons, anywhere in Draenor requires thought.
