Tse4444 Unable to Attend Capcom Cup, Will be Replaced by YD|Yukadon; Final Bracket to be Revealed Tomorrow
Unfortunately, another international player will be unable to attend next weekend’s Capcom Cup. Just a week after qualifying following the Asia/Oceania Regional Finals, Tse Wa “Tse4444” Ping, the Hong Kong Chun-Li player and 31st seed with 132 points, is unable to attend next weekend’s festivities according to the CapcomFighters Twitter account.
Much like Brook|Misterio being replaced by EG|K-Brad, Tse4444’s spot will be going to Fujimura “YD|Yukadon” Atsushi, considered by many to be Japan’s strongest Nash player, who is currently rank 14 on the CPT Asia Leaderboards with 90 points. Highlights of his Capcom Pro Tour season include getting fifth at Abuget Cup, fourth at FV Cup, second at Tokyo Button Mashers, ninth at Well Played Cup, third at Evo 2016 and most recently, 13th at the Capcom Pro Tour Asia/Oceania Regional Finals.
With this bracket shakeup, Yukadon is projected to face BST|Daigo Umehara in the first round. He picked up a 3-2 victory over the Beast himself in the Losers’ Finals of Tokyo Button Mashers, so he has plenty of matchup experience against world warrior Ryu. Other big victories include eliminating Team Hail Mary’s Go1 from Evo, defeating YOUDEAL’s Haitani and Alienware’s Nemo at both Tokyo Button Mashers and Evo, as well as conquering Panda Global’s Filipino Champ in top 64 at Evo. In terms of overall character representation among this top 32, this brings the number of Chun-Lis down from 6 to 5, tying her with Ken for the most represented character, while increasing the total number of Nashs attending to 2.
Capcom has also confirmed that the final brackets for Capcom Cup will be released tomorrow, so competitors and spectators can start properly theorizing paths to that Street Fighter V World Champion title.
Both Mistero and Tse4444 are unable to compete at Capcom Cup which qualifies EG K-brad and Yukadon respectively. Final bracket tomorrow.

SigmaG19 Makes Mock-Up Trailer of What Akuma Could Play Like in Street Fighter V
After the reveal teaser for Akuma, fans everywhere were excited to potentially get their hands on the wielder of the Satsui no Hado in Street Fighter V at the PlayStation Experience. However, it recently was suggested by Yoshinori Ono that the trailer wasn’t what it seemed. While the future of Akuma is pretty uncertain right now, stalwart fans are still keeping the Akuma dream alive by showing his possible moveset in Street Fighter V.
Below is a fan teaser showing a potential version of Akuma; it uses his Street Fighter 4 model as a base, but shows off what the extra tools the dark martial artist could have in SFV. It theorizes that Akuma may have a V-Reversal teleport, a crush counter standing roundhouse, a V-Trigger which turns him into Shin Akuma and the ability to combo into Raging Demon after a Shoryuken. It’s a crazy “what if” trailer, so check it out. The mock up trailer also features a great remix of “Killing Moon”, Akuma’s theme from 3rd Strike which is always a bonus.

2GG|Komorikiri Takes Victory in France at Smashdown World
2GG|Komorikiri finally breaks the sponsorship curse and wins his first major outside of Japan, taking Smashdown World after a close 3-2 victory over IMT|ANTi. It was a hard fought battle for first, with Komorikiri’s Cloud making short work of ANTi’s Zero Suit Samus in game one. In a pick which initially seemed dubious, ANTi pulled out his Charizard for the rest of the set, actually taking games three and four, causing Komorikiri to counterpick to his old main of Sonic. The Blue Blur proved his worth, dispatching ANTi’s Charizard and crowning Komorikiri the grand champion.
One thing to note is that if Grand Finals was played in the two stock format as is standard in Japan and the USA, ANTi would have actually reset the bracket by game four, due to his Charizard pulling a stock ahead in games two, three and four.
ANTi’s counterpicks were in full force throughout a lot of top 8, with his Cloud duelling against Glutonny’s Wario in Winners’ Semis and then securing the win versus DNG|Kameme in Losers’ Semis. His Mario did get a look in against Kameme but once the Megaman master switched to his Wario, it was time to put the plumber on the bench for the rest of the tournament, with his ZSS avenging his Cloud in the runback against Glutonny.
Glutonny however, was the real standout of this tournament, acting as France’s hero and defender against threats from around the world. The Wario legend and Brawl veteran defeated Kameme 2-1 in Winners’ Quarters, pulling on his knowledge of some deadly jab lock and Waft setups to beat one of the Japanese contenders. Kameme actually mained Wario in Brawl and his loss to Glutonny prompted him to bring out the old flame for his fight against ANTi, even wearing the “Gluto” tag in-game. To get all the way to Losers’ Final with a mid tier character in a bracket of world class threats is a major achievement, so expect more of Glutonny in 2017.
Meanwhile, Mr. R was unable to defend his title as the ruler of Europe, thanks in part to the international talent attending Smashdown World. Komorikiri first sent Mr. R into the Losers bracket after a tense five game set in Winners’ Semis, repeating the success he saw using Sonic against Sheik back at The Big House 6. Kameme then acted as gatekeeper and executioner, racking up his third win against Mr. R and sending the Dutchman out of the tournament at fifth.
Elsewhere in top 8, it was a competition between members of Team Prismatic, as pM|cyve, pM|LoNg0uw and pM|Sodrek all fought for places at fifth and seventh. LoNgOuw went out at seventh after a robot battle between his ROB and Kameme’s Megaman, while cyve was forced to teamkill teammate Sodrek in a DLC battle between Bayonetta and Cloud. Cyve would then fall to ANTi 3-1 in Losers’ Quarters, putting cyve at fifth and sending the whole of Team Prismatic out of the tournament.
Despite some quite significant scheduling errors, Smashdown World was definitely a tournament worth tuning into, just to see oft-seen characters like Wario and Charizard feature in a top 8. Let’s hope the presence of top tier international talent will put the boot up the whole of Europe to continue improving at Smash 4.
RESULTS:
1. 2GG|komorikiri (Cloud, Sonic/Japan)
2. IMT|ANTi (Mario, ZSS, Cloud, Charizard/USA)
3. Glutonny (Wario/France)
4. DNG|Kameme (Megaman, Wario/Japan)
5. pM|cyve (Diddy Kong, Bayonetta/Germany)
5. Mr. R (Sheik/Netherlands)
7. pM|Sodrek (Fox, Cloud/Germany)
7. pM|LoNgOuw (ROB/Germany)
