Catch Top Japanese BlazBlue: Central Fiction Players in Japan E-Sports League Footage with Fenrich

One of the most entertaining players to watch is Fenrich, and his Jin Kisaragi. It never gets old to see nearly flawless combos, incredible Burst reads, and his infamous Overdrive combo finishes that make you think, “Is he really going to kill them now?!” The Japan E-Sports League is a great place to catch some top-tier players duke it out in BlazBlue: Central Fiction.

In the first clip above, Fenrich faces Gackt’s Hakumen in a first-to-five. Gackt pulls off a ton of impressive counterplays to get Fenrich in a quick 2-0 lead. But as one could predict, Jin starts to adjust and starts netting some victories, pulling ahead to a 3-2. It’s definitely worth it to watch how Fenrich gets around Hakumen’s Drive ability, and Gackt’s frequent usage of the Yukikaze super.

The next clip has Fenrich facing Souji’s Arakune. As competitive players realize, Arakune can’t be taken lightly in this edition of BlazBlue. Jin’s excellent toolset of anti-airs, pressure resets, and even his projectile help in this match up, but he still has to chase Arakune and play around the Curse meter, which is easier than ever to fill, particularly thanks to Overdrive and Active Flow. Souji takes a dominant match early on, but Fenrich starts to turn things around by catching onto his movement, and doing highly-damaging confirms.

Warner Bros. & NetherRealm Studios Contribute a $5,000 Pot Bonus to Mortal Kombat XL at Final Round XX

With the arrival of Injustice 2 this May–along with the game not being a part of the Evo 2017 lineup–many are concerned that Mortal Kombat XL will soon be on its way out. However, it seems the developers would beg to differ. Earlier this week, the Final Round Twitter account announced that Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios will be providing a $5,000 pot bonus for the Mortal Kombat XL tournament at Final Round XX. This will no doubt draw more hungry kombatants from across the realms to try their hand at getting a piece of the prize–as well as attempting to stop the legendary roll of Echo Fox|SonicFox before Injustice 2 releases.

Final Round XX takes place in Atlanta, Georgia from March 10-12. Pre-registration is open until tomorrow, February 24th, at smash.gg. Onsite registration will be offered on Thursday, March 9th.

Follow Up R. Mika’s Critical Art with One of These Meaty Setups in Street Fighter V

When it comes to dominating a match with R. Mika in Street Fighter V, one can never have too many setups in their repertoire! In this videos, HDJammerz shows us how to make the most out of landing R.Mika’s Critical Art by following it up with a tactfully-timed meaty setup.

R. Mika’s Critical Art, Peach Assault, leaves her at a relatively close distance to the opponent after it hits. Still, the distance is great enough that an opponent might still be caught off guard by her forward dash, and would try to punish it rather than avoid what attack may follow. The video covers a few of the safer routes you can take to capitalize off of the meaty damage opportunities–also noting the options available if an opponent decides to perform a delayed wakeup–and how the setups fare against three-frame attacks and invincible moves.

Notes are included on-screen so that viewers can better keep up with the specifics.

VSFighting 2017 Returns to Birmingham’s Millennium Point from August 12th-13th

Another landmark event of the UK’s fighting game calendar is coming back for 2017, as Electronic Dojo announce VSFighting 2017 is set to run from August 12th-13th. Returning to Millennium Point, which was the site of VSFighting 4 back in 2014, this major UK event will see competitors from all around the UK and Europe descending on the Second City to see who is the best.

So far, Street Fighter V, Killer Instinct, Injustice 2, Tekken 7 and BlazBlue: Central Fiction have been revealed as tournament games, with more announcements to come in the next few months. With a samurai from For Honor appearing in the teaser image for VSF2017, it is possible we could see this medieval battler as a potential side event. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has had a place at VSFighting since VSF5 so it’s safe to assume it may also feature on the title card.

VSFighting 2016 featured as a European Ranking event for the Capcom Pro Tour, and with the tournament returning to Millennium Point with its giant IMAX screen, the event should be fantastic for competitors and spectator alike. Keep an eye on the VSFighting website for details on registration in the coming months.
