Elder Scrolls Online – Celebrating Its Third Anniversary with Gifts & Quests

The Elder Scrolls Online is pulling out all the stops in celebration of its third anniversary. From April 4th through April 18th, you can log in, complete the Ache for Cake quest to get a piece of the Jubilee Cake. When placed in the world, it offers an hour long 100% XP bonus and will later be turned into a Memento for your collection. In addition, completing daily and weekly quests will, in addition to normal rewards, give you an anniversary box.

Evo Japan’s lead-up tournament [sài] will feature Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as its third event

Smash gets in on the action at the upcoming [sài] in Akihabara UDX.

Taking place at Akihabara UDX in Tokyo, Japan, [sài] is a smaller event to be held May 20-21, 2017 as a lead-up to the upcoming Evo Japan–in January 2018–at the same venue. Featuring tournament events for three titles, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 were already confirmed; while many fans expected Street Fighter V to be event #3, it was announced soon after [sài]’s reveal that SFV would not be at the event.

It has now been revealed instead that the third game will be Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, officially bringing the Smash community into the event alongside Tekken’s and Guilty Gear’s faithful. It’s sure to be an exciting tournament!

The cat’s out of the bag: Catwoman gets her own introductory trailer for Injustice 2

Teased over the weekend, NetherRealm Studios have released a breakdown trailer for Gotham City’s infamous jewel thief, Catwoman. A returning cast member from the original Injustice, Catwoman’s kit remains much the same for this edition, complete with her Cat Dash and Feline Evades. Her Cat Scratch trait seems to have been replaced, however–with Catwoman now summoning a friendly feline to scratch the eyes out of her enemy.

Catwoman mains from the original Injustice should be right at home with this iteration of the character. For those looking for a new cat to play with, Cheetah‘s command grab and mixup-heavy play style might be just the thing. Besides seeing Selina Kyle in action, this trailer also gives us the briefest glimpses of Poison Ivy in battle. Based on the five or so seconds of footage, one of her specials is reminiscent of Shinnok’s Hell Sparks from Mortal Kombat, and she seems to have some kind of stance switch.

Path of Exile – GGG on Balancing Minions & Making Noise

This week’s Path of Exile: The Exiled Tribune, we have a nifty mini-interview with Designer Rory Rackham about the upcoming minion balance changes coming in The Fall of Oriath as well as Lead Sound Artist Erik Olofsson about how sounds are made in the game. They provide some interesting background information about design processes. We’ll also take a look at some other interesting tidbits from the week that was.

Tree of Savior – Incentives Offered to New Players from April 4 to May 2

The Tree of Savior site has been updated with a new post that details an event that will be running from April 4th through May 2nd. During this time period, any new accounts created for ToS will receive 19 boost packs that will unlock at various character levels. Each contains a number of items such as EXP tomes, Warp Scrolls, Soul Crystals and more.

Destiny 2 – Fan Theory Suggests Expansions Center on Well-Known Figures

Destiny 2 isn’t even released yet and already folks are breathless over the two announced expansions it will receive. While not named, the expansions are a known quantity thanks to the information provided as part of the Expansion Pass. While nothing is labeled, the two icons are most closely associated with Osiris and Rasputin.
