Cross Counter TV expands into Super Smash Bros. Melee with new series “The Reads” featuring Scar and Toph

Hoping to bring the Excellent Adventures format to other fighting games, Cross Counter TV is expanding into Super Smash Bros. Melee with their new series titled “The Reads.” Starring Bobby “Scar” Scarnewman, Kris “Toph” Aldenderfer, and one special guest from the world of Melee, these three will venture out into the wilds of Melee netplay to get some wins, sprinkle some salt and generally entertain the audience.

The first episode of The Reads will feature Team Secret’s own SilentWolf, who will accompany Scar and Toph as they attempt to show the world that they can still keep up in the fast-paced world of Melee. If The Reads is anywhere close to Scar’s electrifying appearance on Excellent Adventures, be prepared for some fun. Cross Counter TV subscribers will get the series as soon as it’s ready, while non-subscribers will have to wait for each episode to be uploaded to the Cross Counter TV YouTube channel.

To tease fans, Cross Counter TV have released a short trailer, as well as making the first episode free for everyone to watch.

– Low Magic ARPG Rise of the King Lands on KickStarter

A new ARPG with survival elements called Rise of the King has officially launched on KickStarter seeking $160,000 to complete the project. The game is set in a medieval world and is considered a low-magic world. RotK will utilize survival mechanics to make a dynamic and immersive experience for players.

EverQuest – ‘POP’ Locked Progression Server Opening May 24th

EverQuest players will be able to check out the next progression server called Agnarr. It is a unique server from the standpoint that it is considered “POP” where unlocks end with Planes of Power. Expansions up to Planes of Power will unlock every twelve weeks with Lost Dungeons of Norrath being the final content unlock.

Bonchan shares candid thoughts about Street Fighter V, Nash, cooking, and Punk with BornFree at NCR 2017

NorCal Regionals 2017–a Capcom Pro Tour Premier event–took place this past weekend in Sacramento, CA, and drew a lot of the best players from all over the United States, Japan, South Korea, and other regions from around the world. To say the competition was stacked is an understatement, with many top and well-known players being eliminated in the early goings of the tournament.

Red Bull’s Masato “Bonchan” Takahashi was not one of those players. He finished with a strong fourth place performance, only losing to Circa|LPN and GRPT|Fuudo, and got that far using his main, Nash–a character most players have written off as not being as viable as he was in season one, since getting hit by the nerf bat in season two.

YouTube user and FGC personality BornFree managed to catch up with Bonchan before he played in the top 32, to get his brutally honest thoughts and opinions (as translated by Kenzo Suda) about Capcom’s direction with Street Fighter V, Nash’s changes in the next patch, PG|Punk’s admiration for him, and his love of cooking. The video clocks in at almost an hour, so make sure to set aside some time to watch the whole thing below.
