The story behind Bang the Machine, a fighting game documentary disrupted by the 9/11 attack

Many of us precisely remember where we were when the September 11 attack happened in 2001. Peter Kang watched not only the World Trade Center towers crumble, but also the dreams and hope for this Street Fighter-centered documentary: Bang the Machine.

As the team’s office was indeed in one of the towers, almost everything was lost. The documentary has never been officially published, despite a promising showing at the 2002 SXSW film festival. Another thing that hurt salvaging the documentary was usage of expensive, copyrighted music, that often was mixed in with audio interviews, making it too difficult to separate unless they wanted to cut the original audio. As a result the finished film was much smaller in scope than intended, and has only received limited screenings. Kang hasn’t given up entirely, and a fundraising campaign is one way he could mount a comeback.

Check out a new trailer and groove to new soundtrack samples for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

Capcom gives us an earful of the remixed tunes you can hear in Ultra Street Fighter II.

A new trailer has arrived for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers for Nintendo Switch; Capcom and Nintendo definitely are promoting this updated title as the definitive version of the arcade classic. This trailer lists the myriad of modes and features the game will offer to Street Fighter fans.

In addition to updated graphics (if desired), the game features an updated soundtrack, too. While it’s reusing the UDON art assets from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for the HD visuals, USF2 won’t be using the OverClocked ReMix soundtrack from that game, it seems. There’s a new batch of remixes of the classic characters’ themes, and you can get a preview in the soundtrack sampler below.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers arrives on Nintendo Switch on May 26, 2017.
