Smasher Daniel “ChuDat” Rodriguez joins Team Liquid

Joining fellow Super Smash Bros. Melee legends like Chillindude, Ken, and Hungrybox, Daniel “ChuDat” Rodriguez has become the newest member of Team Liquid. Starting his career back in 2005 and still managing to make top 8s, ChuDat is at the top of the Ice Climbers mountain and in contention for the coveted sixth place spot, underneath the Gods of Melee.

ChuDat has seen a real return to form in the past few months, gaining first at Battle of BC 2 over Echo Fox|MVG|Mew2King earlier this month, alongside second place at DreamHack Austin, fifth at Smash Rivalries and ninth at Genesis 4. By joining Team Liquid, he looks to climb even higher along with his long-time partner and friend, Chillindude.

With both players being famous for their Smash diss tracks, the two have teamed up for a special track to celebrate ChuDat joining Team Liquid. It’s not quite Respect Your Elders, but the beat’s pretty good.

After spending some time with this title, to be released on Steam later this year, I wanted to spend some time unpacking my experience. The fighting game player database app, FGC Scouter, is now rebranded as AirdashDB

Some time ago, we wrote about FGC Scouter, an Android app that provides a listing of community members. The creator, AnBi, has now remade and renamed the app as AirdashDB. If you were ever curious for some intel on whom you might face in tournaments, this app will probably do the trick.

AirdashDB — as the name suggests — is currently focused on Guilty Gear Xrd, potentially expanding into other titles after CEOtaku. AirdashDB has a new look and UI, offering a search function and an alphabetical listing. Every player can have their main character(s), home state or country, and picture displayed. Additionally, the app can link to their Twitter handles, display what tournaments they participated it, important placements, and interesting tidbits.

While the app has been available on Google Play Store, AirdashDB is now available on the iOS store as well for Apple device owners. If you’d like your info to be in the app, or you want everyone to know what your catchphrase is, you can DM info to the AirdashDB Twitter account.

In related news, AnBi’s other app, GunFrame, which lists frame data for several games, now also includes Injustice 2. You can view that either on the web version or on your device of choice via Google Play or the iTunes Store.

Gigantic – All Invited to a Preview Weekend On PWE’s ARC Platform

Gigantic will be available from Friday, June 16th to Sunday, June 18th via Perfect World Entertainment’s ARC platform. Anyone who wishes to join can do so during the weekend and be able to test out all eighteen heroes. The goal for the event is to stress test the ARC servers as well as matchmaking. In addition players will be able to check out game improvements including the UI, tutorial system, bot matches, integrated voice chat and more.
