Ultron Sigma appears in Ranked Matches on the PC version of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

Last month, we reported that PC Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite players were able to make boss characters Ultron Sigma and Ultron Omega playable. Fortunately at the time, players were simply using the fused mechanical monstrosities — who were clearly not intended to be played by humans — in Arcade Mode and vs. the CPU. However, this situation has already seemed to reach its next logical step, as a player by the name of Lily Pad Lady Pad Lucky Pad has brought Ultron Sigma into the world of Ranked Matches, replacing Hulk’s files to select the amalgamation.

Utilizing them alongside Doctor Strange and the Soul Stone, this player battled Milton “PRK Patron” Sanchez, who managed to secure a 2-0 victory with Mega Man X/Nemesis + Time, despite the odds, which he then uploaded to his Facebook account. You can see the full set of matches below, during which you’ll likely notice that neither Strange nor Ultron Sigma have call-out audio when tagging in each other.

It remains to be seen whether or not Capcom will address this exploit in an upcoming patch. Have you run into Ultron Sigma in any online matches? If so, how did you fare? Would you like to see a balanced, fully-playable version of the character released in the future? Sound off in the comments below.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is currently available in North America, Europe and Japan on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC.
