Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is getting a mobile spin-off game, releasing worldwide this winter

As is the trend these days, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT joins the ranks of fighting games that are getting a mobile spin-off. Square Enix has announced that Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia is coming to iOS and Android devices worldwide this winter.

As is the case with most mobile spin-offs of fighting games, Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia ditches the arcade/console originals fighting mechanics. In this case, Opera Omnia goes back to the franchise’s roots with a turn-based battle system, though one that still revolves around Dissidia Final Fantasy NT‘s “Bravery’ mechanic.

For those interested in trying out Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia, pre-registration is already open on Google Play. Additionally, those who pre-register — or follow the game’s Facebook or Twitter accounts — will get 5,000 gems (the game’s in-game currency) at launch.

Meanwhile, the original Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for PlayStation 4 just launched in Japan, and will hit the West on January 30. An open beta is currently available.

Paragon – Epic Admits that Fortnite’s Success is Hurting Paragon

In an official post on the Paragon Reddit, Epic admits that Paragon is struggling to find its audience in the shadow of Fortnite’s success. Several of the team members have moved off Paragon and over to Fortnite, so the development has slowed somewhat. “We’re talking about the future of Paragon in pretty much the same terms you’re talking about.” the letter states.

Strike back at the deadly Shin Akuma in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s Extra Battle: Tips from Frabisaur & BornFree

A classic boss returns to Street Fighter with a vengeance.

The first challenge in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition‘s new Extra Battle mode — “Shin Akuma Strikes!” — is a tough-as-nails one-and-done deathmatch against the CPU-controlled boss of the same name. This powered-up monstrosity (who is also hidden in Arcade Mode) sports high aggression, heavy damage, an infinite V-Gauge, and a Shun Goku Satsu ready to go immediately — not to mention SFV’s sometimes-seemingly-psychic Survival Mode AI. At 1000 LP per attempt, this can be a costly battle if you aren’t careful.

But Shin Akuma, like any Street Fighter boss, is far from infallible — actually the opposite, his fondness for fireballs is his undoing. In the video below, BornFree shows how to take down the boss: in a nutshell, keep your cool and keep it simple. Timed jump-in combos to punish his fireballs are the way to go, but you need to be careful and patient, because if you get too close you’re asking for an instant Raging Demon. Shin Akuma seems to have some unusual properties to his moves that make things you expect to be punishable not punishable, so if you get too antsy to counterattack he will surprise you with even more hurt.

Ship of Heroes – Warehouse District Detailed in Latest Blog Update

The latest blog has been posted on the Ship of Heroes site, this time detailing the Warehouse District. The location will be a “mission hub” of sorts where players can patrol and go “street sweeping”. In addition, players will find a wealth of trading opportunities with the district holding imports for transfer and exports waiting for ships to haul them off.

Check out these trailers for the long-awaited G Gundam mobile suits for Gundam Versus

Revealed as part of the 2018 Gundam Game New Year Festival, Bandai Namco have finally released gameplay trailers for God Gundam and Master Gundam from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, as well as Build Strike (Full Package) Gundam from the Gunpla-based spin-off Gundam Build Fighters. They also revealed that Farsia from Mobile Suit Gundam AGE will be joining the roster as well.

As a fan-favorite entry, many were confused at the removal of any G Gundam Mobile Suits from the initial release of Gundam Versus — with that series being centered around a Gundam fighting tournament, after all. Luckily, the addition of God Gundam means you can finally dispatch foes through the force of your love, your anger, and all of your sorrow!

God and Master Gundam are scheduled to launch in Japan and in the West on January 23rd, with Build Strike (Full Package) Gundam and Farsia coming on February 6th. You can also download the G Sound Set on January 23rd, containing all the extra songs that were available in the Premium G Sound Edition of Gundam Versus.
