Rising Up: Season 4 — Important changes for M. Bison, Vega, Birdie, Karin, and Rainbow Mika

Following the conclusion of the year 2018 Capcom Pro Tour, Capcom has released Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s newest character, “Kage,” along with a balance patch to give each character some new bells and whistles. This patch changes every character and addresses some of the most common complaints about Season 3 and 3.5. By popular demand, I’m continuing my series on ShoryukenTube wherein I analyze the Season 4 patch notes and describe how the changes will affect each character’s combos and playstyle going forward. While it’s critical to know your own character’s balance adjustments, you also benefit from knowing your opponent’s options against you.

Tekken 7 shortlisted as part of next year’s Southeast Asian Games

Next year’s Southeast Asian games will be the first to host competitive video games. As part of this, Tekken 7 has been shortlisted as one of the games involved.

The announcement was made by the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc), alongside their official partner Razer. Tekken 7 is one of 5 games that have been shortlisted for the event. It’s also the only console game named so far — though a second game is currently under evaluation.

The 2019 SEA Games will be the first time that esports will be medal events. Prior to this, esports were a demonstration event at the 2018 Asian Games.

The other shortlisted games are StarCraft II and DOTA 2 for PC, as well as Arena of Valor and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for mobile.

Bethesda Gifting a PC Version of the Fallout Classic Collection to Fallout 76 Players

If you own a PC copy of Fallout 76 and have logged in to the game before the end of 2018, you’ll be pleased to hear that Bethesda is providing you with a copy of the Fallout Classic Collection for free. Think of it as sort of an “apology without anyone actually saying they’re sorry” kind of thing or just as a nicely unexpected holiday gift. According to the Bethesda Twitter, “the entitlement is expected to go live in early January”.

Atlas ain’t quite ready to sail the seas, matey

Atlas is ambitious. It’s going to be, with time and development, one of the singularly most massive MMOs ever created. But right now, in Early Access, and even for the low sale price of $25, I’d recommend against buying it. The promise of everything you saw in that Gameplay Trailer is there, but the rough state of servers and performance mean you’re better off waiting to see if things improve even if it means spending $5 more.

Mikado Arcade’s Street Fighter Carnival 12 continues with Street Fighter EX2+, Koihime Enbu -RyoRaiRai- VODs

World-famous Mikado Arcade is back with two more tournament VODs featuring high-level Japanese play in a variety of classic arcade titles!

This week’s tournaments include the indie footsie-focused fighter Koihime Enbu -RyoRaiRai-. Coincidentally, this game is on sale right now on Steam for the holidays… in case, you know, you enjoy the tournament footage.

The other entry today is Street Fighter EX2+. If you’re excited for the new Fighting EX Layer characters Area and Sharon but have never played as them, both are represented in today’s footage!

You can follow the action of SFC12 by subscribing to Mikado’s official YouTube channel. For the night owls in the US, you can even try to catch them when they livestream.

Bob Sagat retrains the Super Street Fighter II Turbo cast to do other people’s moves

It appears as though T. Hawk got tired of diving at people, and just wants to focus his ki energy on chucking plasma instead. It also seems as though Zangief got tired of bears and went after birds instead — spinning birds, that is.

With these move swaps created by the great Bob Sagat, the natural look of every single one looks like it could easily be another Rainbow Edition in the making. Whether or not anyone will take this further than this or not, it’s enjoyable to see a fresh coat of paint on the characters.

Capcom Fighters presents the Top 5 moments of Capcom Cup 2018

Last weekend’s Capcom Cup 2018 was filled to the absolute brim with top-class Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition action, and Capcom Fighters has taken a look back at their Top 5 moments from the massive event.

Highlights include: RISE|Caba being thrown a copy of Daigo Umehara’s The Will to Keep Winning while he was on the ropes, FAV|Sako absolutely sagging on Liquid|Nemo with a stylish Wisdom Of Thoth combo from Menat, a rare tournament Double K.O. between REC|Punk and RISE|Caba, and more. You can receive all of this great action by watching the video below.
