Last year, Capcom released a special bundle of DLC, the “CPT Premier Package,” to help increase the prize pot for the Capcom Pro Tour last December. This included special costumes for Cammy and Chun-Li, which saw them adorned in fine formal wear, as well as the Capcom Pro Tour Champion’s Costume. Designed by Capcom Cup 2015 champion GGP|Kazunoko — who believed he would be maining Necalli in Street Fighter V — the devour-our-ourer of souls takes on a more human appearance, clad in samurai armor.
In addition, there was also a special stage, the “Ring Of Destiny,” as well as Capcom-themed colors for all 22 Season 1 characters, and a pair of exclusive titles, “Capcom Cup 2016” and “Capcom Pro Tour 2016,” which are only available for PlayStation 4 players.
Previously, this bundled content could only be purchased for $24.99, but is now available for both PS4 and PC players, for only $9.99. But act quickly, as it will disappear again on November 29th, along with the also currently-available 2017 CPT DLC.
Pricing breakdowns and a short FAQ about how much of the profit from this DLC is distributed back into the Capcom Pro Tour is also included in Capcom-Unity’s blog post. This is certainly a great deal for those who missed out on this content last year, as you can now grab it all at a much cheaper price. Let us know if you plan on taking advantage of the discount in the comments below.
The Nostalgic Gamer continues his weekly “Meet the Darkstalkers” series by looking at the franchise’s original Final Boss: Pyron. Hailing from the planet Hellstorm, Pyron was conceived as an intelligent lifeform from neither Earth nor Makai, who was made up of energy, at least partially composed of flame. Though each member of the cast was fighting for their individual goals, the team felt having a single boss for everyone to aim for would create a sense of unity among the roster.
After arriving on Earth 65 million years ago, he created the Huitzil (Phobos, in Japan) to monitor the planet until it developed organisms strong enough to pose a proper challenge. He then calls out to the Darkstalkers to meet him in combat, with his final fate being left unknown.
After covering his brief playable history, which includes Vamprire Hunter: Darkstalker’s Revenge, the console version of Darkstalkers 3,and Capcom Fighting Evolution, The Nostalgic Gamer points out some interesting trivia regarding his voice actors. You can see the full video below.
For more info on the Darkstalkers, you can see the recent episodes on Huitzil and Rikuo, as well as Sasquatch.

With a new build of the game appearing at Toushinsai last weekend, and information mostly limited to player impressions on Twitter, Arc System Works content creator Koefficient has recently released a guide covering the main gameplay mechanics of the upcoming BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.
In the nine-minute video, he covers the button layout as well as core mechanics like Reversal Actions, Reject Guard — which functions similarly to pushblocking or BlazBlue’s Barrier Guard — the two types of Smart Combo routes, Resonance Blaze, as well as the various tag mechanics and safe, invincible incoming attacks (that can be used after losing a character). However, Koefficient chose to exclude talk about the combo gatling routes, as the game is still in a very early state — meaning these could be very subject to change as development goes on.
An interesting note seen in the latest build is that while Auto Run is a universal form of movement for the entire cast, Hazama, the first character with a Step Dash to be introduced, will instead “dash furiously forward” when moving. Another interesting addition is that when an Assist is called, they will flash either red or blue, signaling a Fatal Recovery state for the duration of the move until they exist the screen, depending on whether they are on the Player 1 or Player 2 team. You can see the full video below:
GameFAQs user Nazdrovie has translated the movelists that were released for players at Toushinsai, which contained all previous characters and the additions of Rachel Alucard and Hazama.

At next month’s Tekken World Tour Finals in San Francisco, we won’t just be determining who is truly the King of Iron Fist, but we’ll also witness a war for the Dragon Balls. Maximilian, Echo Fox’s Dominique “Sonic Fox” McLean, D’Ron “D1” Maingrette, and Stream.me’s Carl “Perfect Legend” White will all be competing in Dragon Ball FighterZ invitational exhibition matches.
Additionally, there will be playable stations at the venue with the game available all night, for spectators to try their hand at the new title — similarly to what Tekken 7 is doing with DLC guest character Geese Howard. You can see the Facebook post about the event below:
The Tekken World Tour Finals will take place on November 12th at the City View at Metreon in San Francisco, California.
As they’ve previously done with the Major Carol Danvers, Superior Spider-Man, and the Evil Ryu, Command Mission X, Gladiator Hulk and Warrior Thor costumes, the Marvel vs. Capcom YouTube channel has recently uploaded a series of trailers for the four Premium Costume Packs that went on sale alongside Sigma, Black Panther, and Monster Hunter last Tuesday. For those still on the fence about purchasing some of these costumes, these trailers allow us a look at the how the outfits will look in-game; there is a trailer for each of the three available packs.
The Mystic Masters costume pack includes: Doctor Strange’s Illunimati Defenders/Marvel NOW! attire, seen in books such as Strange Tales #110; Ghost Rider’s Outlaw costume, which is based on the 2007 Ghost Rider movie’s Carter Slade/Phantom Rider and Prime Earth’s Cowboy Ghost Rider; Morrigan’s Night Warriors attire, based off of one of the succubus’s iconic win poses; Molten Dormammu, seen in Strange Tales #126 and New Exiles Annual #1; Firebrand’s Ultimate form from Demon’s Crest and Ultimate Ghouls n’ Ghosts; and Nemesis’s Tyrant costume, which pays homage to T-00/Mr. X.
The World Warriors pack contains Ryu’s Wanderer costume; “Joe Fixit” Hulk; Gladiator Captain America, seen in Secret Wars: Planet Hulk Steve Rogers; “casual” Chun-Li, referencing her Street Fighter II ending’scivilian outfit; Captain Marvel’s Warbird/Ms. Marvel costume; and classic Chris Redfield, a throwback to an alternate outfit from the original Resident Evil.
Finally, the Avenging Army pack consists of Ultimate Hawkeye’s Ultimatum costume; Dante’s Nephilim costume, recreating his appearance from DmC: Devil May Cry; Arthur’s Fallen Angel armor from Ultimate Ghouls n’ Ghosts; Ultimate Thor; Superior Iron Man, with the Endo-Sym armor; and a Gottfried Groeder outfit for Spencer. You can see all three trailers below.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC. These costume packs can be purchased for $11.99 each, and the outfits can also be bought individually for $3.99 each — or as part of the Premium Costume Pass for $29.99 (which will also include the other 12 Wave 1 costumes for the remaining base roster characters, to be released later this year).
Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed at the end of any recent trailer for the game, it’s noted that pre-ordering the title will provide players with early unlocks for Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta, their Lobby Avatars, as well as the Girls Stamp Pack (which provides stamps for Bulma, Android 18 and Android 21), as well as early access to an open beta set to kick off sometime before release.
However, GameSpot has revealed that this early access period will only be afforded to players who pre-order the game digitally through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Marketplace. Unfortunately, pre-ordering any of the physical editions will not grant you this early playtime. There is still no confirmed date for the open beta, but with the game around three months away, we should be hearing something soon.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in North America and Europe on January 26th, 2018, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. A Japanese release will follow on February 1st for the same platforms.
The river of Street Fighter V leaks keeps flowing from the Twitter of dataminer X-Kira. In his newest video, he talks about 31 new premium DLC costumes set to arrive for 19 members of the cast. These include the sport costumes for Kolin, Zangief, and Karin arriving today, as well as more Nostalgic and Holiday costumes, more special Chun-Li alternates designed by Akiman, and a mysterious “Set73” that appears to be a yet unrevealed themed collection of outfits.
To close out the video, X-Kira reveals a secret root menu displaying a tab for a “General Story Volume 2,” meaning we could see an additional cinematic Story Mode at some point, presumably following up on A Shadow Falls, released in June 2016. You can see the video below:
He later clarified on Twitter that the Set68-71 Costumes for Chun are four more alternates designed by Akiman, alongside the Set64 Vacation, Set65 Pajamas, and Set67 Undercover Cop outfits currently available — and a currently-missing Set66 — for 8 costumes in all.
X-Kira also continued trickling out more “Cosplay” costumes of famous Capcom characters, similar to the ones we covered previously that will be obtainable in SFV:AE’s Extra Battle mode. There will be a quartet of classic Mega Man costumes: the Blue Bomber himself, Protoman, Roll, and Bass (or Forte in Japan), as well as outfits for Star Gladiator’s Hayato Kanzaki, Devil May Cry‘s Trish, Vergil, and Nero, Nilin Cartier-Wells from Remember Me, Darkstalkers’ Baby Bonnie Hood, Felicia, and Jon Talbain, Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Ada Wong, Mega Man X and Zero, God Hand’s Gene, Power Stone’s Edward Falcon, Regina from Dino Crisis, Breath of Fire’s Ryu, Sengoku Basara‘s Sanada Yukimura, and Captain Commando’s Baby Head and Ginzu the Ninja (known as Hoover and Sho in Japan).
EventHubs user Flowtron — who correctly leaked SFV’s entire Season 2 character roster — has also gone on record as to which World Warriors will be receiving a few of these costumes. Chun-Li will embrace the dark by getting the Morrigan alt; Karin will be elegantly dressing as Ingrid; Ryu will be carrying the company’s mascot mantle as he dons the armor of both the classic and Mega Man X (as well as Jin Saotome); Guile will be enforcing futuristic justice as Captain Commando; Urien will continue his cleansing ways as Donovan — whose look Dan will also don as an NPC; Ken will create Reuben Langdon-caption with the Dante alt; Cammy becomes an honorary member of S.T.A.R.S. with Jill’s costume; Menat will embrace her feline side with the Felicia alt; while Ed craves more (Psycho) power in Vergil’s attire. X-Kira has even confirmed that the original “Devil’s Never Cry,” from Devil May Cry 3 will playing during the Extra Battle event to obtain Ken’s Dante costume. An extremely nice touch, if true.
Naturally — as usual — the imminent arrival of this stuff in the game proper is unconfirmed until some clarification or announcements from Capcom themselves. What do you think of all of these Cosplay costumes coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition? Is there anyone else you’d like to see, and who do you think will be wearing each one? Give us your thoughts in the comments below.
