Over the course of the last few months, IKevinX has been making videos focusing on the numerous anime and manga references for the entire cast of Dragon Ball FighterZ, as Arc System Works has made a point to stick to the source material as closely as possible when crafting movesets and animations.
In one of his more recent videos, he decided to go back and cover some blatantly missed references for some of the older characters — though he ignored Goku (he’d like to make a full video about him once the game officially releases, and he needs more research time due to Goku having more fights than any other character). He’s also waiting to do a Tien video until he’s fully released in a playable state (perhaps during the upcoming open beta, or if he gets added added to a future convention build).
This video mainly covers things like Frieza’s updated intro animation where he powers up to 50%, as well as some missed attacks — such as being able to spend meter after exiting his Golden form to have Sorbet fire a blast from his ring at the opponent, in a callback to Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F. Androids 16 and 18 have many attacks taken form Banpresto’s Dragon Ball Z Super Battle 2, among other things. IKevinX also believes he’ll need to eventually make a Part 2, due to the massive influx of characters we’ve been getting lately. You can see the full video below, along with links to his coverage of past characters.
Dragon Ball FigherZ will be released on January 26th, 2018 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Japanese release following on February 1st for those same platforms.
With the Tekken World Tour Finals set to take place in a week’s time in San Francisco, California, the last stop on the Tour arrived in Paris, France, as Paris Games Week played host to the European Regional Finals.
With a $15,000 pot bonus, and only the top 5 of the Regional Leaderboards set to qualify for the Finals, the competition between 135 of Europe’s strongest Tekken 7 players was guaranteed to be amazing.
X-Kira continues to datamine more of the content that will (probably) eventually be coming to Street Fighter V. In his latest report, he notes that the Union Station, Hillside Plaza, Lair of the Four Kings and Apprentice Alley will soon be receiving stage variations, with the “Setting 1” option that can be seen in several other arenas. These variations will remove several of the background NPCs, along with minor alterations to the battlefield — such as replacing F.A.N.G’s statue in the Lair with Sagat’s, which can currently only be seen in the Ngguhao leader’s Character Story. Though these variations currently exist within the game’s cinematic General Story Mode, it appears that they will finally be added to the in-game Shop for purchase and use in regular matches. He further claims that one of these stages is linked to the General Story Volume 2 script.
X-Kira also notes in the video description that “other DLC stages will have variations in their future, night versions, afternoon and gimmicks alike.” He also revealed that Capcom will seemingly be implementing the long-requested feature to request a change to your Fighter ID, which once set is currently permanently tied to your in-game CFN Profile. To close out the video, X-Kira notes that soon, every stage in the game will have a stage K.O. animation, and the stages for Rainbow Mika and F.A.N.G — based off the backgrounds of their official artwork — will also be arriving imminently. He also displays the official CFN renders for the Red Bull-themed costumes that are part of the 30th Anniversary celebration. You can see the full video below.
In another video, X-Kira also gave us a look at the colors of each Red Bull costume in-game (for those who still want a better look at them before going out and grabbing cans) at the 9:15 mark. These special outfits are the 16 “Set73” costumes mentioned in a previous report.
But it doesn’t end there. X-Kira has discovered a new series of incomplete Volume 3 Trials that will likely launch with Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition in January — as two of the four utilize Zeku’s currently-unavailable second V-Trigger — and will likely pull from some of the upcoming balance adjustments that will be made to the cast in the new year.
He’s also revealed some more things on Twitter, noting that R. Mika’s tag team partner Nadeshiko will finally be receiving some alternate costumes of her own next year with AE, but he’s currently unsure if they will be sold separately or bundled with Mika’s Premium Costumes. He also states that we’ll be seeing Sagat and Sakura as the first two Legacy characters of Season 3, along with the female member of Neo Shadaloo (seen briefly in Ed’s Character Story) arriving as the first new challenger. He also recently posted Cody’s Super Street Fighter IV theme to his YouTube Channel, implying he might be joining the fray as well…
Finally, X-Kira notes that we shouldn’t trust the silhouettes that will be shown to us at the PlayStation Experience in December, as Capcom has given the fighters a visual makeover for their default attires.
Be prepared to confuse silhouettes during PlayStation Experience 2017, as Capcom changed various visuals on the characters. ?
As usual: X-Kira’s datamining has proven reliable but don’t count on any of this content for sure until Capcom reveals their intentions officially. What do you think of all of these leaks so far, and who else are you hoping to see in Season 3? Tell us in the comments below.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be released on January 16th, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Steam PC, as both as physical release and a free downloadable update for existing users.

Last Friday, the final leg of the Injustice 2 Championship Series, the Injustice 2 ELEAGUE, kicked off with play in Group A. Eight of the world’s best Injustice 2 players descended upon Atlanta, Georgia to compete inside the ELEAGUE Arena. Players were gathered from the 2017 Injustice 2 Pro Series Finals, GameStop Hometown Heroes, Liga Latina, the Path to Pro Series, as well as a Last Chance Qualifier. They fought to earn one of two coveted spots in the Championship Round where they will compete with the top two players from Group B, in order to determine the ELEAGUE Injustice 2 World Champion and overall winner of the Injustice 2 Championship Series, with a whopping $250,000 up for grabs.

Finally, Echo Fox|Theo will face HappyPow, a French Flash, Batman and Black Adam player who is coming off of getting 13th at viennality and finishing 7th at VSFighting7.
The stakes could not be higher for these eight individuals, as not only will they be competing for the lion’s share of the prize money, but only two of them can advance to the Championship Round, alongside Allegiance|Dragon and Circa|ForeverKing. You can see a tweet with the full brackets below.

In celebration of Halloween, The Nostalgic Gamer has released another episode of his “Meet The Darkstalkers” series, this time focusing on the Queen of the Soul Bees, Q-Bee. When originally designing the concept of a bee-woman character for Darkstalkers, the team’s initial idea was for her to be a type of mutated insect that uses other insects as a form of attack, however, following the submission of Akira “Akiman” Yasuda’s concept, the design was further refined until it became the character’s final design we all know and love today.
According to Haruo Murata, “Q-Bee” is meant to be more of a class type than the name of an individual character, and he originally didn’t think she needed to be added to the game because she was too creepy. However, Character Designer Bengus argued that she could be considered cute and adorable if players imagined she was designed by Shotaro Ishinomori.
You can catch the full video below to learn more about the Soul Bees, as well as the alliance they forged with Jedah Dohma in Vampire Savior to ensure the survival of their population.

IKevinX is back with another video of manga references for the cast of Dragon Ball FighterZ. Though he originally intended to wait until more footage of the most-recently announced characters had been shown, he gave in to excitement and decided to compile a reference video for Nappa, based off of his recently-released gameplay trailer.
As it was a fairly quick look at the bald Saiyan warrior, there’s not a ton to see here, but we can tell his attacks obviously draw heavily on his appearance in the Saiyan Saga, from when he and Vegeta invaded Earth in search of the Dragon Balls, following the death of Raditz. His intro animation and several attacks draw from the original material, with his character artwork even being ripped straight out of the manga, in one of his more iconic poses.
He retains his traditionally brutal attack style, with even a shot-for-shot recreation of one of his assaults against Tien. Notable, however, is that his animation for planting Saibamen is not an exact match, though the attacks shown from the Cultivating Men certainly are, including the Saibaman Bomb. Lastly, we see two of Nappa’s supers: his signature Volcano Explosion and his Level 3, Break Cannon. You can see the full video below.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in North America and Europe on January 26th, 2018, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC. A Japanese release on those same platforms will follow on February 1st.
