See the entire cast’s Level 3 Hypers in the Gamescom build of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with footage from UM Tyrant

As we’ve previously reported, Unequalled Media’s Tyrant was recently invited to the offices of Capcom UK to try out the Gamescom build of the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. After recently providing us a healthy amount of gameplay footage involving several under-used characters, his next upload focuses on showcasing the entire cast’s Level 3 Hyper Combos, starting with the Marvel side before moving on to Capcom.

While the returning veterans (and Jedah, who utilizes his Provia=Di=Servo from Darkstalkers 3) retain the same Hypers from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, characters like Nova, Frank West and Spencer have finally been given Level 3s, as this is a luxury that is now afforded to the entire cast. Spencer’s Level 3 even serves as a reference to how he finished off Groeder in the Bionic Commnado reboot, by shoving a stick grenade in his foe’s mouth before zipping away while they explode. Keep in mind that this is still an unfinished build of a game in development, so some of these animations could see some slight tweaks before release.

Which of these Level 3 Hypers was your favorite? Did you prefer the reimagining of classic attacks from the veterans, or the new attacks afforded to the newcomers, Frank, Nova and Spencer? Let us know in the comments.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is scheduled for a September 19th release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in North America and Europe, with a Japanese release on the same platforms coming on September 21st.

Learn the basics of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT with these guides from UM Tyrant and PrimaGames

The closed beta test for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has been underway this weekend, and many players are liking stepping into the world of Square Enix’s RPG-based arena fighting game for the very first time.

In order to help newer players, Unequalled Media’s Tyrant was recently invited to the UK offices of Square Enix to record some footage of the game — which will include some match footage that will be posted at a later date. Being that this is Tyrant’s first time playing a Dissidia game, he provides a great perspective of being a newcomer to the series, while also being a veteran of traditional fighting games.

After going over the character Classes: Vangaurds, Assassins, Marksmen, and Specialists, he then discusses EX Skills and the two available Battle Sets for each character that are chosen before a match begins. Next, he covers the game’s unique HUD, which features a three-tiered life bar that all three Team members share during the game’s 3v3 battles, as well as the Summon bar and the Bravery Gauge, which governs the amount of damage that your character’s HP Attacks will do once you hit one of your three opponents.

Finally, Tyrant covers Summon Crystals, which he likens to Smash Balls in the Super Smash Bros. series, as once shattered they will provide a large boost to your team’s Summon bar, which can be used to call forth a powerful summoned monster that will aid your group in battle. You can see the full video below.

PrimaGamesVideo also released a detailed video going over the game’s controls and how to play.

Let us know if either of these two guides were helpful to you, either as a newbie or veteran player of Dissidia, and feel free to share your experiences of the closed beta test so far in the comments section below.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be released for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 11th, 2018, with a worldwide release following on January 30th. The closed beta test is currently ongoing and will last until September 3rd at 9:00 PM PST.

Jedah, Hulk, Chris Redfield, Rocket Raccoon and more face off in this Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Gamescom footage

Unequalled Media’s Tyrant has been a great source of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite action from across the pond, as many UK players have had the chance to try out various builds of the game at several different events. Like Maximilian, Tyrant was recently invited to the Capcom UK offices to try out the Gamescom build of Infinite, which features the entire 30-character launch roster — including the recently-announced Jedah, Firebrand, Ghost Rider, and Dormammu. Willing to take requests from fans to display characters we haven’t such as much gameplay of in these pre-release days — such as Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Chris Redfield, Iron Man, and Captain America — there are a large variety of heroes and villains represented in these videos, sure to provide something for everyone as we inch ever closer to the title’s release in less than a month.

Jedah/Dante vs. Dormammu/Ghost Rider

Dormammu/Hulk vs. Thor/Doctor Strange

Iron Man/Captain America vs. Ryu/Ghost Rider

Rocket Raccoon/Chris Redfield vs. a CPU-controlled Thanos/Haggar

Though Tyrant admits to being unexperienced with a few of these characters, he does his best to put on an entertaining show and to try and demonstrate what some of these lesser-seen fighters are capable of with their new moves, as well as Infinite’s new mechanics.

What are your thoughts on this gameplay? Did it give you some new ideas for your own teams as we enter the home stretch towards this game’s release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released on September 19th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in North America and Europe, with a Japanese release on the same platforms following on September 21st.

Black Manta invades Atlantis in his official Injustice 2 gameplay trailer

Earlier this week at Gamescom, we learned that Black Manta, Raiden and Hellboy would be joining the cast of Injustice 2, as the next three DLC characters contained in Fighter Pack 2. The GameStop Hometown Heroes finals are currently raging in Las Vegas, Nevada, where NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon revealed the first look at gameplay for Black Manta, who will be the first character released in September.

David Hyde brings his signature arsenal of powerful technologically-augmented black wetsuit, which is equipped with a harpoon gun, a jetpack that provides him with the ability to float in the air, and a pair of shoulder-mounted rocket launchers to strengthen his zoning abilities. Manta also boasts a Teleport Punch and his pair of twin blades, allowing him the ability to rush down his foes with ease. His Trait appears to be his signature optic blasts emitted from his helmet’s lenses, that may function similarly to Hish-Qu-Ten Predator’s lasers in Mortal Kombat XL.

Finally, his super move sees Manta pull out his trident, which he uses to stab his opponents, sending them forward at high speed, before blasting them with his shoulder rockets and restanding them with his harpoon gun, before finally frying them with his eye-lasers. His dialogue with arch-enemy Aquaman indicates he still holds a grudge against the King of Atlantis for killing his father, something his Injustice incarnation likely shares with his New 52 counterpart. You can see the full trailer below:

Black Manta will be available as part of Fighter Pack 2 — which is included in the Ultimate Edition. No date was given for when Manta will be getting a full Watchtower character breakdown, but the details of that will likely be revealed soon.

Injustice 2 is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Feel the might of Saiyan divinity with all of the known anime and manga references for SSB Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball FighterZ

With all of the new gameplay footage and characters on display in the Gamescom build of Dragon Ball FighterZ, IKevinX has been hard at work continuing his videos showcasing all of the anime and manga references that Arc System Works is painstakingly recreating for each and every single character in the game.

In his latest video, he tackles the two newest additions to the roster, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, or Super Saiyan Blue, Goku and Vegeta. These two divine forms of the last pair of pure-blooded Saiyans will be taking up their own character slots, but will not be clone characters. As such, though they do share a few normals with their original counterparts, their attacks have mostly been lifted from Dragon Ball Super, particularly their battles against Golden Frieza and Goku Black.

For SSB Goku, ASW also draws on his matches against Zamasu and Hit during the Universe 6 Saga, as his Kaioken X 10 God Kamehameha serves as his unique Meteor Attack. You can see the full video with all known references from the trailer below. Reference videos for Androids 16 and 18 will be coming soon.

If you’d like to see more of his previous work, you can check it out at the links below.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to be released in February 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC. Sign-ups for the closed beta test, which will feature all characters from the Gamescom build are now open.

VesperArcade counts down the top 5 PR gaffes of Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite

We’re now just a mere three weeks away from the release of Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite. It’s been a rocky road for Capcom to say the least since the title was revealed at last December’s PlayStation Experience. From the initial NeoGAF leak of “Marvel Vs. Capcom 4” to roster complaints, Chun-Li’s infamous character model, the emphasis on a cinematic Story Mode, as well as the “functions” comment in regards to characters, Capcom has certainly taken a beating in the eyes of many.

In an attempt to try and chronicle the timeline of these events in order to see just what has gone wrong during this pre-release hype cycle, VesperArcade has decided to count down what, in his opinion, are the top 5 PR disasters of MVC:I.

He covers topics such as the lack of X-Men/Fantastic Four characters in the base roster, as well as Capcom’s choice to mainly feature returning veterans on their side, as well as the decision to do away with Assists all together in favor the Tag System. While many fears have been put to rest as players have got extended time with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, it will be interesting to see how the initial reception of MvC:I bears out.

Do you agree with this list, or do you believe there were other PR missteps that lead to MVC:I’s current reception this close to release? Or do you feel some of these concerns have been resolved? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Ed Boon tweets out the first in-game look at Black Manta in Injustice 2

Earlier this week at Gamescom 2017, NetherRealm Studios finally revealed the next 3 DLC characters that will be coming to Injustice 2 as part of Fighter Pack 2. The first new fighter we will be receiving is Black Manta. Aquaman’s arch-nemesis will be bringing his large assortment of weapons to the battlefield when he arrives in September; we see him equipped with shoulder rocket launchers, as well as his signature harpoon gun in the trailer. In order to build up more hype for his official gameplay reveal this Sunday, August 27th, at 4:00 PM PT, Ed Boon has tweeted out our first in-game screenshot of Manta.

Set within the Slaughter Swamp stage, he is blasting Swamp Thing with eye lasers from his helmet, similar to Predator’s Plasma Shots from his Hish-Qu-Ten variation, seemingly implying that he could be a strong zoning character. Regardless, all will be revealed on Sunday night. You can see the tweet and photo below.

Are you excited about Black Manta being confirmed for Injustice 2 — potentially with a zoning-heavy gameplan — or are you hoping he’ll be more of an offensive, vortex-heavy character to stand out as a larger contrast to Aquaman’s more defensive-wall style of play? Or do you want him to be something else entirely? Give us your thoughts and predictions in the comments below, and don’t forget to tune in Sunday night for his official gameplay reveal at https://www.twitch.tv/netherrealm.
