Continuing the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite hype train isn’t too difficult now: everyone is talking about it, both positively and negatively. While many players are excited for a new Marvel title and are looking forward to getting their hands on the game in any form, others are apprehensive due to the return of 2 vs. 2 play and lack of assist mechanics.

When Yahoo! Esports asked some of the top players and figures in the FGC–including Ryan Hart, Problem X, Zhi, and Vicious–their reactions to the gameplay trailer, there were still some mixed responses to it, but mostly excitement for the new title.

Daigo Umehara Takes On Mago in a Thrilling First-to-Seven Online in Street Fighter V

Few words need to be said about either HyperX|Daigo Umehara or Mago at this point. Mago is easily considered one of–if not the–best Karin players in Street Fighter V, as well as one of the best Street Fighter players in recent history. Daigo Umehara already has his name etched in the annals of history as one of the greatest fighting players ever. He also happens to have a pretty mean Ryu in this game, as well.

So what happens when the two players square off in an online first-to-seven? The result is thrilling high-level match play that goes straight down to the wire.

Last week, we reported on an interview between Razer|Infiltration, GW|Eita, and EG|Momochi regarding what they would change about Capcom Pro Tour’s structure. But that was apparently not all they talked about.

With all the stunning upsets at Capcom Cup that culminated in the rise of the United States on the Street Fighter map, it was even more necessary for them to discuss the changing climate of the tournament scene. As such, the three also discussed how much the perceived skill gap between the USA and Japan has changed over the course of this year.

GW|Eita Talks His Recent Success With Yahoo! Esports

Hiroyuki “Eita” Nagata of GameWith had an interesting Capcom Cup. Having made top 8 of Evolution 2016, he came within spitting distance of doing the same in Anaheim, leaving favorite Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi in his wake.

While he was at Capcom Cup, Michael Martin caught up with the Ken main to talk his match with Tokido, and his training process that allowed him to level up to his current skill level. They also talk his successful attempt to get sponsored and his need for such attempts.

Woshige Talks to Yahoo! Esports About Street Fighter V’s Design

Ryuichi “Woshige” Shigeno, Guilty Gear legend and one of the designers on Street Fighter V, was in attendance at Capcom Cup and PlayStation Experience last weekend. Thus, after Capcom Cup came to a close, Michael Martin of Yahoo! Esports caught up with him to discuss certain elements of Street Fighter V’s design.

They talked about part of the reason why the skill gap between Japan and the West is no longer as wide as it used to be. Moving on from that, they talked about how the game has performed in the market and what Woshige, as well as Capcom, has learned from the design of Street Fighter V between Seasons One and Two.

Eita, Infiltration, and Momochi Add Their Input to Capcom Pro Tour’s Structure

It seems that everyone has their two cents to add into the debate on how to improve the Capcom Pro Tour going into 2017. Given that an otherwise successful season was marred by a confusing format, everyone is likely to have something to say about it.
