Capcom showcases every V-Trigger II in Street Fighter: V Arcade Edition

The wait is almost over, yet still excruciating for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. To further add anticipation to our wait, Capcom UK community manager Matt “TheStreetWriter” Edwards posted a video showcasing every single V-Trigger II of the existing cast.

Not only does the video explain what the various new V-Triggers do — something which had already been done in their blog post — but it also gives visual examples of the various followups and possible setups you can do after each V-Trigger. This should add some fuel to the theory fighter fire for the next few days.

Core-A Gaming explains the discrepancies between player sides in this video

Have you ever played an online match and cringed to see yourself on the 2-player side? So do top players, especially Tekken players — who evoke a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors in order to choose sides.

Gerald from Core-A Gaming decided to discuss the differences between sides. While execution can be a factor on both sides in various games, none have it worse than 3D game players, especially in Tekken, as sidesteps are also reversed when on the right-hand side instead of the left-hand side. He also discusses what players can do to mitigate their side problems.

Xuses showcases more of the strangest moments of Street Fighter V Season 2

We are only a few days away from Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, and now it’s time to look back at some of the strangest and funniest things that have happened in Season 2 of the game. When this video starts off with an Alex full parry that warrants this response from BornFree, you know it’s going to be good.

From weird hitbox interactions — including Smug landing behind a Birdie, only for Birdie to reappear in front of him — to Daigo teabagging Justin Wong, this video leaves one alternating between laughing hysterically and shaking one’s head.

Any time that Leffen and Armada play each other in Super Smash Bros. Melee these days, we expect to see a lot of fireworks. The two Swedish players have a long history against each other, and as such we see a lot of high-level mind games that you don’t often observe in other matches of the game.

They have recently been trading back and forth, and with Leffen coming out of Losers Bracket at Valhalla 2018 in Denmark, we are treated to an amazing display of clutch factor in this Grand Finals set. Missed the action? Thankfully, there is a replay for our enjoyment now.

Korea’s JDCR and Japan’s Noroma face off in an epic first-to-ten Tekken 7 run back

Korea and Japan — political implications aside — have a long-standing rivalry, especially in Tekken. While Japan is the originator of the game, Korea has long held the reputation of having the strongest players in the game, even claiming that Korean arcade parts are better suited for the game!

Yet, in 2017, Evo 2017 champion JDCR was taken to his limits and beaten by Japan’s Noroma at the Korean Tekken World Tour stop. He has since gotten his revenge by beating him during the Tekken World Tour Finals. But now’s the time for the rubber match. In this epic Tekken 7 first-to-ten held in Japan, who will come out on top?

Gravity Breakers development team breaks down combat mechanics in their latest video

Gravity Breakers is an independent fighting game being developed with a unique premise — every character flies in midair throughout the fight, and you are able to fly freely across the stage. With that in mind, they had to break the mold of traditional fighters in order to design a combat system that would work within the style they’re going for.

Their lead developer Joseph recently released a video showcasing this. While maintaining differing types of normal attacks, their specials work in a similar vein to games of the Smash variety, due to the difficulty of keeping characters in free flight and performing special move motions. The game also looks to ditch health bars for HP totals, while also showing a combo lockout mechanic if a combo goes on too long.

Catch the replay of Punk & MenaRD’s epic Street Fighter V set at Kumite in Tennessee

Two of the youngest players on the tournament circuit are also now two of the best. Punk spent the majority of the Capcom Pro Tour at the top of the leaderboard, and is still ranked #1 in the world. Despite MenaRD’s low seed in the Capcom Cup bracket, the Dominican proved to be one of the best in the world by taking the entire tournament.

Previous, these players faced on in a first-to-five at the Hawaii salty suite at Evo 2017, and MenaRD came out on top. With a half of a year behind them, who comes out on top in this epic exhibition at Kumite in Tennessee?

Pika Power is on display in this Pokkén Tournament Pikachu support combo video

As Pokkén Tournament DX now moves forward to new characters and new supports, it’s worth it to look back on one of the original characters in the game. Pikachu was first revealed as part of the game in the announcement screenshots several years ago, and has remained strong in the game since.

In this combo video, we see Pikachu show off what he can do alongside various support Pokémon. He has really strong synergy with many of them, including Cubone, Farfetch’d, Frogadier, and Yveltal.
