Here’s how Omen of Sorrow’s Zafkiel can shred lifebars with ease

Not every character in Omen of Sorrow is gifted with particularly easy-to-set-up juggle states. Decapre-esque divekicker Zafkiel is, however, and CCW|MRpeck324‘s latest combo video shows how she can easily turn any stray hit into giant combos.

Though an example Blessed Mode loop is included, Zafkiel doesn’t need the additional combo mode to score up to 70% damage or more. She just needs a bold cancel and decent execution… and that doesn’t even include what she can do in the corner.

That Blasted Salami shows off Bob’s gains in Tekken 7 of Season 2

The transition from Tekken 6 to later Tekken entries certainly wasn’t kind to Bob, nor should it have been, given his overall dominance in that game. Because of this, though, there’s been a precipitous drop-off in Bob players, one of which a series of strong buffs in Season 2 hopes to rectify.

Damage buffs across the board — particularly on some key crouch dash options — and a uniquely strong set of wall bounce options make Bob’s combo damage more meaningful in the long run. Between this and a set of new roll options, perhaps Season 2 will bring Bob back to the forefront.

SoulCalibur VI version 1.02 launches this week, fixes Voldo/Tira meter bugs, Unblockable tech traps

When the Voldo and Tira meter-discount glitches were first discovered in SoulCalibur VI and Namco announced that a patch was in the works, we postulated that it likely would be released soon based off the turn-around time of a very similar bug in Tekken 7 season 1. Namco didn’t disappoint: Version 1.02 is just around the corner. The following patch notes below are via Avoiding The Puddle’s English translation of the original notes found here.

Know your weapon arts for SoulCalibur VI’s Azwel — even if you aren’t playing as him

Azwel is an overwhelming force when you first encounter him — and, it turns out, when you first try to play as him. SoulCalibur VI‘s weapon summoner has a unique check to his wide array of magic melee attacks — he’s penalized with an additional 8 frames of startup if he tries to use a new weapon out of the blue.

As sikshot gaming explains in his latest tutorial video, this is a critical bit of information for both player and foe to keep track of when Azwel is on the screen — particularly when it comes to how airtight his pressure is after certain moves.

Demonstration of SoulCalibur VI’s current throw break OS bug

Since the SoulCalibur VI throw break OS was originally postulated by the SC community last night, I decided to try and work out this particular option-select to see if it was “real” or just a placebo effect. For those of you that don’t know, an option-select is simply a single input that always picks the correct answer for what “should” be a mixup scenario. In this case, I am breaking grabs with two different breaks via one single input:

The above video shows the breakdown and frame-count of the OS at work, with a third example thrown in at the end just for consistency’s sake.

As much as I love odd little option-selects like this, hopefully this will be patched out soon — it really has no place in Calibur’s engine and does nothing to make it a “better”game.
