UltraDavid shares Venom Trait option selects for Bane in Injustice 2

UltraDavid over at UltraChenTV just recently revealed an interesting trick using Bane’s trait to make the game “forget” inputs in certain situations.

For whatever reason, Bane’s trait will cancel out further inputs during strings on block, but not on hit. This makes it incredibly easy for Bane to remain safe  and automatically get the damage (or knockdown) that he wanted. David goes through several valuable strings that you can use this trick with to hit-confirm big, easy damage. He does note, however, that it only works when you are below Max Venom.

Unleash your inner tiger with these Tekken 7 combos for Kazumi Mishima

Of all the new characters in Tekken 7, Kazumi Mishima is the character we have seen the most content for here at SRK. Whether it’s her electric-less Mishima Style, her beauty, or her teleporting pet tiger, the character seems to be generally well-received.

(It’s probably the tiger.)

YouTuber hfblade is here to show off his work with the demon bride. There’s plenty of tigers being hurled, sure, but there’s also a lot of valid (and creative) combo extensions shown off here. Be sure to check out the side-hit floor break on the Forgotten Realm!

Put out Blaziken’s fire with Allister’s match-up tips for Suicune in Pokkén Tournament

SetToDestroyX|Allister is North America’s most recognizable and accomplished Suicune player. Perhaps even the most recognizable Pokkén player, period, when taking into account the fact he was tapped for Nintendo’s Pokkén Tournament DX exhibition at E3. If anyone is going to have valuable match-up knowledge to share, it’s this tournament veteran!

Blaziken is a character that seems terrifying at first — as any character with a screen munching, jab-speed powerful attack like Blaze Kick would. But there’s a lot of gaps and tricks you can use to take advantage of the fire bird’s offense, forcing him to play more honestly with you.

ARMS University presents character guide for the versatile Spring Man

Nintendo’s lead protagonist of ARMS is, perhaps predictably, an orthodox, balanced character. This makes him a great starting place for learning the ins-and-outs of ARMS gameplay.

Equipped with the ability to deflect incoming attacks,  Spring Man controls the ground and can punish predictable opponents reliably. He also gets permanently-charged arms when below 25% health thanks to his “Guts” ability, allowing him to pressure hard and build meter quickly. You may not want to stick with Spring Man, but you’ll pick up footsies and punishment concepts quickly with this straightforward moveset.

Core-A Gaming presents Infiltration’s advanced guide to Street Fighter V’s Akuma

Lee “Infiltration” Seon-woo is one of the most dominant players in the history of the Street Fighter franchise. If you’re an aspiring Akuma player looking for ways to flesh out your game, you could do worse for a teacher than this international champion.

In this video with Core-A Gaming, Infiltration spends just under an hour taking you through everything there is to know about the Dark Hadou user. There’s move analyses, hit confirming, shimmies, option selects and more for you to study. It’s preceded by an advanced guide to Street Fighter V in general. Infiltration also made a beginner’s guide to SFV as a whole, if you feel like you need to brush up on the game first.

Beyond the attack triangle: Countering counter attacks in Pokkén Tournament

If you think you can live and die on rock-paper-scissors alone in Pokkén Tournament, you’ll do a lot more of the latter versus good players then you’d probably like. The reason why this happens is because the “attack triangle” — so prominently plastered across Pokkén’s tutorial and marketing — is a guide, not an absolute rule.

There is no substitute for learning the nuance of mechanics in fighting games, and that is why McDareth (with the help of Pokkén Pro Slippingbug) has put together this excellent breakdown of the counter attack mechanic. With Pokkén Tournament DX only a few months away, now is the perfect time to get educated on the juicy depth of this unique series.

Tekken 7 video roundup: CEO interviews, punishment guides, Devil Kazuya combos, and more!

Today’s video roundup takes a bit of a different twist. There’s still plenty of combos and new tech to share, but let’s take a trip down memory lane first. Bandai Namco put together an excellent recap of CEO 2017, including a series of interviews with the big Tekken names in attendance.

New characters are always big problems in 3D games. Theer numerous strings and new qualities have to be learned, and fast. Proper Tech is here to help you punish Katarina’s new moveset.

World Warrior has some Devil form-specific combos for you to try out.

If you like your combos flashy and impractical, you should check out this wild Kazumi combo video from KYSG_Guc. Back-turned states are notoriously hard to juggle in Tekken, but you wouldn’t know that after watching this video.

Xiaoyu continues to be a tech trap monster. Thanks to her back-turned state, TheComboSmithy explores some deadly traps with her BT 3, and other curiosities.

Aris at Avoiding The Puddle shows you how to crouch cancel. Knowing this further opens up your rush-down possibilities and combos.

BLKthunda 1220 has wakeup options to cover everything after her F+4 knockdown.

You don’t have to get demon-like damage by picking Devil Jin. All you need is Savage Ogre‘s latest combo video, and rage.

hakazuki breaks down the Yoshimitsu vs. Gigas matchup in intricate detail. Yoshi is very good at punishing, if you didn’t already know!

ranzudezu has a quick PSA: Eddy’s Rage Art breaks balconies.

And lastly, Russianarm has found a way to setup back-turned Rage Drive’s with Gigas. You tech, you die.

How is your own tech coming along in Tekken 7? What have you been working on improving?

Method|REO shares his thoughts on balance changes he’d like to see in Injustice 2

Method|REO has consistently been one of the most active content creators for Injustice 2‘s competitive scene since launch. Beyond that, this sponsored pro has provided invaluable tech and insight for NetherRealms games for years, and can easily be considered a specialist for what makes a NRS game work in high-level play.

So, it’s no surprise that his thoughts on the current balance in Injustice 2 is focused on the tournament environment right now. He has a few reasonable nerfs for the bottom tiers he’d like to see, and buffs for bottom tiers like Wonder Woman and Captain Cold.

What do you think of his list?

Charizard can completely clip through the floor with these Pokkén Tournament glitch combos

You may remember some time ago that Pokkén player Shadowcat discovered a strange glitch with Braixen’s air fireball in Pokkén Tournament. For whatever reason, an opposing Gardevoir or Charizard could tank the hit, bypass the air tech state and immediately preform an air action of some kind.

Well, the glitch has been pushed to new, strange territories. Since Charizard can glide in the air, an immediate glide cancel allows him to do some very silly combos. Take the above option for example: gliding allows him to clip down under the earth, making his jump 6y hits from underneath. It’s then that the game realizes that the fire not-dragon is so grounded as to be within it, and immediately aligns him back onto the surface.

That’s one way to link into 2Y, I guess. But is it even a link? Charizard flashes white before the 2Y, implying he somehow canceled j.6y into a grounded 2y.

And then there’s this insane thing above, with a glitched Charizard being able to combo into his burst off a phase shift. This shouldn’t be possible at all, but yet, here we are.

Braixen’s air fireball recovery is nerfed in the latest version of Pokkén Tournament in the arcade. So if this glitch still exists, this potentially means Charizard could get guaranteed — and hilarious looking — damage for getting hit.

TEKKEN TRAINING: Electric Wind God Vids — The basic role of jabs in Tekken 7

If you’re just dipping your toe into the Bandai Namco fighter universe via Tekken 7, the odds are good you’ve felt overwhelmed. There’s enough depth, data, and difficulty in this legacy 3D fighter to fill a college course.

So let’s get some training in.

TEKKEN TRAINING: Electric Wind God Vids is SRK’s new video series aimed to help simplify and streamline the learning process of Tekken 7. Our introductory lesson is on the role of generic jabs in Tekken: or more specifically, how the jab shapes the pace and mind games of a Tekken match.

For Asuka, Jack, and Kuma players, your jabs break tradition in terms of frame data, but you still can technically play the same pressure game with them via slight modifications. We will cover these jab exceptions in a future video!
