Bandai Namco to Host Alpha Test for New Gundam VS Title

Bandai Namco is planning to host a closed alpha test for the recently revealed Gundam VS title coming to PlayStation 4. Unlike previous Gundam VS games, the latest member of this franchise is being developed exclusively for consoles, which could merit some changes to the series’ competitive scene and how the priorities of online multiplayer and tournament accessibility are handled.

There is yet to be an announcement of an official release date for the game, and there is not much footage of gameplay besides a few high quality screenshots and a brief teaser trailer (below), but the announcement of this test could mean fans might see some more updates soon.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Akuma Story Mode Gameplay Revealed

During a live streamed stage event at Pax West, demo footage of the “Mishima Saga” Story Mode in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution was revealed. The level demo includes the long-awaited battle between Akuma and Heihachi, and how it will go down from Akuma’s perspective. Though it’s reminiscent of what we’ve seen in the original reveal trailer from E3, this closer look from the PAX stream gives viewers a better idea of what actual story mode gameplay will be like.

Ryan Hart Interviews King of Fighters XIV’s Producer and Art Director With Fan Submitted Questions

UK champion Ryan Hart was able to secure an interview with some important people from SNK during their visit at Gamescom 2016. The Prodigal Son sat down with King of Fighters XIV Producer, Yasuyuki Oda and Art Director Nobuyuki Kuroki and asked them questions that were submitted to him by fans. There were also some things answered regarding the game’s new fighting engine and the possibility of characters from previous titles returning.

For those that don’t know, Ryan Hart is fluent in Japanese and his translated encounters with Japanese developers tend to have a more personal touch to them. You can read the full interview here.

Check Out This Perfectly Stunning Ken Rushdown Montage for Street Fighter V

In his latest montage, XusesGB demonstrates the punishing potential of Ken’s rushdown game. Most of the matches in the video end with either stun combos or perfects, and the ones that don’t still show why Mr. Masters is practically the embodiment of rushdown. Another great thing this video highlights is the importance of fundamentals: though Ken’s style is flashy on the surface, most of the damage acquired in these online matches seem to come from hard reads, good footsies and sharp reactions.

Check out these clips that make even the spectator fear Ken’s flaming fists:

Bandai Namco Addresses Tekken X Street Fighter Status & Possible New Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Characters

Bandai Namco Brand Manager Mark Religioso recently spoke about his company’s decision to focus on fleshing out Tekken 7: Fated Retribution’s story mode; in the full Dualshockers interview below, Religioso speaks optimistically about the forthcoming console release of the latest Tekken title and how his company has been “fine tuning the game” during the time it has been available in Japan’s arcades. He regrettably informs viewers that the development of Tekken X Street Fighter is officially on hold, noting that with their focus being on Fated Retribution, it wouldn’t be the “best time” to release the long-awaited crossover. Back on the positive side, he teases that there will be even more new characters joining the game’s roster, and that there should be an announcement regarding that soon.

Check out the full gallery below for a good eyeful of what’s to come.

Ed Boon Asks Fans “What’s Next?” In Mortal Kombat X Twitter Poll

Ed Boon has recently posted a Twitter poll asking fans what news they would like to hear regarding Mortal Kombat X:

Though the choices were limited, each one is significant to members of the Mortal Kombat X community: MKX for PC has had it’s share of troubles, and some believe that the port is being almost completely ignored. cR|SonicFox has claimed victory in the past three seasons of the ESL tournament series, and a fourth season would reopen the opportunity for a new victor–or at least another chance for previous competitors. Character adjustments are an ongoing discussion in any part of the FGC–but for MKX in particular, the game balance has been a concerning area for some.

While it isn’t certain the poll results will effect Mortal Kombat X directly, but it was still an opportunity for fans to weigh on on what they want to see happen next: which, based on the final results, is more PC support for MKX going forward.
