The King of Fighters XIV’s latest batch of DLC costumes are coming out today, and joining the previously showcased Kula’s sundress, Meitenkun’s pajamas, and Sylvie’s red riding hood costumes is this devilishly sexy outfit for for Angel.
This costume for Angel is an obvious play on her name, with “Diabla” meaning “she devil”–the opposite of an angel, naturally. The costume comes complete with a set of horns on her head and wings on her back. With her dangerously playful and flirtatious personality, this costume seems to be a perfect fit for Angel.
At this time last year, there was one name at the top of the Capcom Pro Tour leaderboards; Razer’s Lee Seon-woo–more commonly known as Infiltration–had dominated the Tour, winning the first two Capcom Pro Tour events, Final Round 19 and NorCal Regionals 2016. What a change that a year (and a balance patch) can bring, as not only was Infiltration not at Final Round 20, but it looks like he’ll won’t be at NCR 2017 as well.
In a recent tweet, Infiltration confirmed that he would not be attending NorCal Regionals 2017. According to him, he feels that he is not yet ready to attend Capcom Pro Tour events.

While this seems like such shocking decision from a decorated player–having won multiple tournament wins including three Evolution championships–it’s not entirely unexpected for those following his performance as of this year. With the changes to his previous Street Fighter V main character Nash, Infiltration has been on the lookout for a new character to use. While he’s been playing a lot with Juri and Rashid, even using them at TBS’s ELEAGUE, it seems that he still doesn’t feel confident in his ability to bring them to the finals of a Capcom Pro Tour event.

With Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 now rereleased on a number of platforms, players new and old may find themselves drawn back into this great game. One of these players is Zeohawk, who’s decided to revisit some of his old “Practice Session” combo videos for the game.

Whip is one of the four new DLC characters added to The King of Fighters XIV, as part of its recent version 2.0 update. The lash-wielding sister of K’ was last seen in The King of Fighters XI, skipping out the past two iterations of the franchise. For her return, she sports some changes to her kit (including some new normals) that now define her abilities in the game.

Among all the people involved in TBS’s ELEAGUE Street Fighter V invitational, there was one name that many fighting game viewers may not have been familiar with. Richard Lewis, more known for his work covering CS:GO, was brought aboard to host the event alongside many of the fighting game community’s luminaries.
In a recent interview, PVP Live talks to Lewis about ELEAGUE and his involvement in it; here Lewis talks about the community’s longstanding issues with esports and how they addressed those concerns and criticisms. As part of this, he points out how ELEAGUE reacted and adjusted to criticism as it went on, slowly changing from the first day to the ongoing finals.
Additionally, Lewis also talks about journalism, and how it is important in helping in bringing a genre (such as fighting games) to new audiences who may not have initially been interested in following it. As part of this, he mentions how some people who’ve been following his work on other genres have been watching Street Fighter V at ELEAGUE, despite not initially being interested in the genre. More importantly, he points out how journalism, and how reporting on important matters, can help make esports as a whole lot more relevant to their audiences.

With TBS’s ELEAGUE moving into the finals for their group stages, Yahoo! Esports’ Michael Martin thought that now would be a good time to talk about the preliminary stages of the event. In this new episode of Conversations & Fireballs, he does just that, discussing the preliminaries with his guest, Mark “BornFree” Sheridan.
As someone who’s been covering Street Fighter tournaments for a long time now, BornFree is one of the best people to talk about regarding the event. The King of Fighters XIV’s recent 2.0 patch brought with it a rather significant number of balance changes. With this, many players are likely wondering what new things the game’s characters can do, in terms of combos.
Now while the patch is barely a day old, many players have started to figure out new combos for the existing cast, as well as some powerful ones for the newcomers.
First up we have Gatoray, who has been experimenting with the game’s original cast. The video below showcases some new combos, links and cancels that the original cast members can perform in version 2.0.
Now for the new DLC characters, people have also been figuring out stuff for them as well, of course. First up, we have these day 1 combos for Vanessa by Fredchuckdave. These include some basic Advanced Cancels for her in MAX mode, that allow her to deal significant damage with meter.
Speaking of damage, Ryuji Yamazaki looks to be a monster in terms of damage output. In the video below, iori_q8 demonstrates a combo that can outright kill 900 health characters with full meter.
