Everyone has a fighting chance
Just in time for Halloween, the folks behind the Mortal Kombat X mobile port today unleashed guest character Jason Voorhees. While he’s been playable in the main game for some time, those of you who are still getting mileage out of this slimmed down version can finally don the iconic hockey mask and get down to terrorizing the rest of the cast.

If there’s anything most folks can agree on when it comes to Skullgirls, it’s that it featured a ridiculous group of voice actors. The all-star cast assembled by Lab Zero Games had as much a hand in bringing the indie fighter to life as the excellent artwork, and it appears as if Arc System Works is doing all they can to replicate that success with their localized release.
Featuring veteran voice actors from series like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Persona, and more, Skullgirls 2nd Encore’s Japanese release is shaping up to be just as impressive as it was in English. Arc System Works recently shared a brief preview of the work that’s gone into this upcoming release during a live broadcast, and Johni was kind enough to capture the trailer and provide a mirror on YouTube, which you’ll find below.
Apart from the brief snippets of voice work, the trailer also reveals that Daisuke Ono (Street Fighter IV’s El Fuerte, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Jotaro Kujo) will be lending his talents to the project as Beowulf.
While M2’s arcade port dropped just today, Arc System Works plans to release Skullgirls 2nd Encore for consoles sometime in January.

Like many facets of life, opinions are one thing the fighting game community has in spades. Think a character is too strong? Jump online and let everyone on your favorite messageboard know. Have criticism for a popular commentator? Do your best to avoid talking to them directly and subtweet with reckless abandon.
Of course, it’s one thing when Twitter rando #473 pops off about something and quite another when a well-known player drops their thoughts on any particular subject. That’s why, when Japanese powerhouse Nemo shared his opinions on a couple of key issues, folks paid attention.
Who do you regard as the strongest Street Fighter players in the world? Your list likely lines up with Nemo’s pretty well, as he thinks of Mad Catz’ Daigo Umehara, Bonchan of Redbull, Evil Geniuses’ Momochi, Kazunoko, and himself as the best Japan has to offer.
In a region as stacked as his home country, Nemo definitely had his work cut out for him. Notably absent are Fuudo of Razer and Mad Catz’ Tokido, both of whom should arguably be included in any discussion of this nature. Of course, we weren’t privy to Nemo’s decision-making process or even how long it took him to come up with this group, so it’s entirely possible he struggled with putting it together.
And you can’t really fault the dude for picking himself. I respect that.
Outside of Japan, Nemo sees Xian of Razer, Infiltration, AVerMedia’s GamerBee, Snake Eyez of Redbull, and MeltDown’s Luffy as the strongest from the rest of the world.

The folks behind Churning the Butter have just gone live with another installment of their weekly tournament series, taking over Folsom Street Foundry in San Francisco, California to host Ultra Street Fighter IV for local players.
Some of the competitors you can expect to see tonight include Julio, Alex Myers, pH|Crackfiend, DM|El Cubano Loco, pH|Nando, G Dragon, and pH|LPN.

While it would be hard to fully replace Skullomania of Street Fightr EX fame, one could argue that Street Fighter IV newcomer El Fuerte fills a similar niche. He’s exaggerated, silly, and boisterous, and utilizes a wide array of unorthodox moves to beat down fellow world warriors.
With the release of Ultra Street Fighter IV’s horror costumes, fans once again have the chance to play as Skullomania…well, kind of, anyways. As a nod to the fan favorite, Capcom has given El Fuerte a similar skull costume to battle in, and if you squint real hard you could probably fool yourself into thinking his Japanese counterpart finally made it into the game.
Desk took this idea a step further by putting together another one of his famed combo videos, remixing Skullomania’s “Amusementive Crime” theme for a special El Fuerte exhibition. As usual, he provides some excellent footage of the luchador doing what he does best, leaving us to wonder what Street Fighter IV may have looked like if Capcom was able to secure rights to those elusive Street Fighter EX characters of yore.

In order to flesh out the number of color palettes each character will receive in BlazBlue: Central Fiction, developer Arc System Works and Famitsu asked fans to decide which classic colors they want to see in the upcoming title.
The results of this poll were recently tallied, giving us a look at the handful of outfits that will be returning from previous installments. We’ve included the most popular color for each character in the gallery below, and you can see the rest by visiting Famitsu.
