July 1st marked the end of service for 13 year old Planetside. Our own Steven Messner was on hand in Planetside’s final moments with everyone literally going out with a bang. Check out the video below to see how it all went down.
General: Games Of Webzen Event Kicks Off
Games of Webzen is a new player-centric event taking place across all of the publisher’s titles, including Asta, ELOA, Rappelz, MU Online, Flyff, C9 and Age of Wulin. The event will take place from today through July 26th. Players will be able to gain bonus EXP, daily log-in rewards, daily items and more.
General: Bluehole Announces Competitive PvP Survival Game
TERA developer Bluehole Studios has announced a partnership agreement with PlayerUnknown to create a stand alone Battle Royale game called Battlegrounds. PlayerUnknown is the creator of the Battle Royale game modes for both H1Z1 and Arma 3.
Immune: Removing The Barrier – Game Now F2P
Vidiludi Games has announced that its catroon survival MMO Immune has now gone free-to-play on Steam where it is currently in early access. Developers hope that this will increase server population without any barriers to entry. Players can still support continued development of the game by purchasing keys to open cases which contain cosmetic items.

Overwatch: Heroic Fan Memorialized In Game For Act of Bravery
A Chinese fan looking forward to the release of Overwatch was sadly killed during an altercation with a criminal the night before the game release. Wu Hongyu witnessed the theft of a classmate’s motorcycle and chased the perpetrator on his own. The two crushed and sadly Hongyu died from his injuries.
Diablo 3: Need a Job? Blizzard Hiring Diablo Series Game Director
It seems that this year’s Blizzcon may have some good news for fans of the Diablo series with the new job posting on the corporate site that seeks a Game Director. The project is considered an “unannounced project – Diablo. It is fascinating, however, to wonder where the current(?) Diablo 3 game director, Josh Mosqueira, is and whether or not he’s still with the company.
Rift: Dimensioneers Rejoice with Lots Coming in 3.7

Heroes of the Storm: Diablo 3’s Auriel Set to Bring Hope to the Game
Diablo 3’s Archangel Auriel seems to be the next hero that will wend her way into Heroes of the Storm, at least according to the .gif you see below. The portal is similar to those in Diablo 3 and it is surrounded by Amazon Nova, Kharazim and the female Crusader.
General: KickStarter Fatigue is Real – 2016 Dismal for Games
KickStarter fatigue is a real thing, at least when it comes to funding forthcoming games. In the first half of 2015, backers pledged over $20M and slightly more than that in the second half of 2015. In the first half of 2016, backers pledged only $8.2M, less than half of either half of 2015.
