Jagex has announced that Runescape and Old School Runescape players will have the opportunity to participate in in-game events to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to assist in the preservation of big cats in the wild. Players will be able to adopt companion cubs based on wild cats and can earn special titles for their characters.

World of Warcraft: What We’d Like to See (and Not See) in the Next Expansion

What We

Many WoW players are pinning their hopes on the Eye of Azshara, a name that Blizzard trademarked late last year (and the subject of our WoW column earlier this week). Rather than focus on what we’d like to see lore-wise, let’s take a few minutes to look at the things we’d like to see (and NOT see) from a feature standpoint in this next as-yet-unnamed expansion.

Crowfall: Concerns and Misconceptions

Concerns and Misconceptions

I’ve written both praise and skepticism about Crowfall in this column over the last few months, as I think it’s only fair to see both sides of any ambitious new game project. Personally, I enjoy the portfolios of both J. Todd Coleman and Gordon Walton, so that combination, including the premise of Crowfall itself, is music to my ears. But different people may be excited (or not) about Crowfall for different reasons.

General: How EpicData is Making the Games You Love Better

How EpicData is Making the Games You Love Better

A lot goes into the making of MMOs. It is not just about game design, there is a huge infrastructure that goes along with it. Forums, web design, cash shops, interface, and customer experience all make up the parts of an MMO that you may not think about while playing a game. Well, the good news is Raechele Greenwald and her team at EpicData has started thinking of it for you.

World of Warships: First Impressions – A Capable Fleet

First Impressions - A Capable Fleet

The seas are silent as my gunboat, the Hashidate, glides across the smooth deep blue waves. To my starboard side I see the USS South Carolina towering above the rest of our fleet. The mere presence of the battleship strengthens my resolve. I cut around an island, skirting the perimeter of our capture objective only to find I am now in range of enemy artillery.

Elder Scrolls Online: Storyline vs Content

Storyline vs Content

Now that we have a release date for Imperial City and according to Matt Firor, Wrothgar isn’t far off either (early 2016), I want to pose a question to the community. This question is one that I’m still debating over and can’t come to an actual decision on where I stand, or where I should stand.

Skyforge: Review in Progress – My Ascension Slows

Review in Progress - My Ascension Slows

My epic ascension to god-hood slowed down this week. The reason was twofold. On one hand, I had to review Kyn (a fun little Indie RPG), but on the other hand I was actually very glad to take a break from Skyforge. After putting in over 40 hours since Open Beta Head Start, the repetitive nature of Skyforge’s content is starting to get to me.

Guild Wars 2: SMS Account Security Added

SMS Account Security Added

In the near future, Guild Wars 2 players will be asked to associate a telephone number with their account as part of a new move to keep player accounts safe from hacking. The new system will begin immediately but will roll out in stages. Over time, new accounts will be required to utilize the new SMS system.
