As much as this is an Elder Scrolls Online column, the topic I want to discuss branches itself across almost every MMO. It is something that no game has really figured out how to master. What I would like to discuss this week is Private Test Servers (PTS).
ArenaNet is ready to take the lid off significant changes to be implemented in the Guild Wars 2 PvP system. The changes are expected to inspire world class competitive PvP and come prior the first World Tournament Series to take place in early December. Guild Wars 2 developers will be detailing more about the precise changes coming to PvP throughout this week.
Trove fans have a new playable class today with the arrival of the Candy Barbarian. These dual-wielding sword users utilize the power of sugar to fuel their skills.
According to Nexus-core.com, former subscribers to WildStar are being sent emails inviting them back to the game for seven days of free game time. The email contains a special key code to add to player accounts that grants the week’s time.
Rollers of the Realm, a hybrid pinball – RPG from Atlus U.S.A. has been released. Rollers of the Realm is a cross platform game that can be played on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita or on PC via Steam. Trion’s CEO Scott Hartsman has issued an official response to the allegation that there is a duplication bug for APEX currency. APEX is purchased with real world dollars and, when opened, yields in-game credits. Players have alleged that this is an issue that has been in the game since alpha.
Blizzard has issued a public apology for the World of Warcraft technical issues after the launch of Warlords of Draenor. In addition to admitting to a poor launch experience, Blizzard is also giving a good faith gesture to its community by giving all subscribers in all regions five days of game time in compensation for the frustration.
Perfect World Entertainment has announced the release of the latest module for Neverwinter. Called "Rise of Tiamat", the module includes a new zone called the Well of Dragons that eventually leads to a 25-player instance to take on Tiamat herself.
Red 5 Studios has announced the release of the latest and most significant update to Firefall. Called "Together Toward Victory", the patch features important PvP enhancements, new open world encounters, a special 5-player instance and more. It is a free update to all Firefal players.
A new Kickstarter project has launched for a game in development called "The Skies". According to KickStarter, Skies is a radioactive post-apocalyptic world with a multiplayer component. According to the team, Skies is not a traditional MMORPG, but does contain elements of both RPGs and MMOs that will instantly be familiar to players.
