Guild Wars 2: Tangled Paths Arrives Today
ArenaNet has announced that the continuance of the Living Story Season 2 arc will be released today, Tuesday, November 18th. Guild Wars 2 players will be sent on a journey of discovery to find a dragon’s egg which, not coincidentally puts them on a collision course with the Elder Dragon Mordremoth during the events of Tangled Paths.
World of Warcraft: Largest Subreddit Shut Down Briefly as a Protest
Over the weekend, the largest World of Warcraft subReddit was shut down temporarily by one of its moderators. The shutdown was seen as a way to protest the recent server woes that World of Warcraft has been undergoing since the launch of the Warlords of Draenor expansion last week. Once this particular editor was able to log into WoW, the subReddit was reopened but the backlash against his decision has been a phenomenon all its own.
Albion Online: Get Your Green Thumb On
The first details about the farming system in Albion Online have been revealed on the official site. According to the team, farming is being added as a double bonus for players: It is a place for a get away from the brutality of PvP and it offers a place to craft consumables that help with healing. Players will be able to raise crops and livestock and have the ability to create consumables in a wide range of types.
SMITE: World Championship Details Announced
Hi-Rez Studios has announced several key details about the forthcoming SMITE World Championships to be held in Atlanta, Georgia on January 9-11, 2015. Of notable interest is the news that the prize pool has risen to over $1.3M through a special themed promotion available to players in the game. In addition, the final Odyssey reward has been revealed and fans of SMITE can grab a virtual ticket to the weekend’s events.

When I first got wind of how gear acquisition in Guild Wars 2 would work, I loved it. As it was described to me in an interview, the best statistical gear could be obtained relatively quickly and easily, and anything beyond that would just be cosmetic. MMO launches are one of the trickiest things in the world for a developer and publisher to orchestrate. In the case of single player games, the experience can be perfectly balanced and simulated in a controlled environment. For standard multiplayer games, you can easily cap the number of players involved and know how it’s going to turn out in a live scenario. A Massively Multiplayer Game on the other hand, is something else entirely.

Well, just like that BlizzCon has come and gone, and it vvvvwas awesome. Having been to the four most recent BlizzCons this was hands down the best. Not only did they announce a new IP (Overwatch), there was tons of news for their existing titles including the announcement of a new Hearthstone expansion that is right around the corner.
