World of Warcraft Classic CBT to End July 12th, One More Stress Test Planned

The World of Warcraft Classic site has been updated with the news that closed beta testing will be ending on July 12th. The team has plans to take on verified bugs out of the 17,000 reports made over the last seven weeks of testing. This will, according to the post, make “Classic a better experience for everyone when it launches on August 27th”. There will be a small event held on the final day of CBT.

Hacker Behind SOE/Daybreak Games DDoS Attacks Headed to Prison

The US Department of Justice is reporting that a Utah man charged with DDoS attacks against Daybreak Games when it was still Sony Online Entertainment has been sentenced to 27 months in prison and has been ordered to pay $95,000 in restitution. Defendant Austin Thompson is currently out on bond, but has been ordered to report to federal officials on August 23rd. The attacks occurred between December 2013 and January 2014 and were strong enough to take servers offline.

Pagan Online Devs Lay Out the Road to Release with Big New Features Included

Fortnite’s Mega Mall location is apparently rife with “upside down portals” inspired by the Netflix series, Stranger Things. Stranger Things Season 3 is set to debut tomorrow. Mega Mall is also the home of Scoops Ahoy, an ice cream stand that is also present in Stranger Things and ice cream cones are found here and there that grant players +5 health each.
