Players looking for a new MMORPG home may want to check out the forthcoming Eternal Magic. The game is headed for closed beta testing starting July 17th. Eternal Magic features “a flexible character class system, dynamic combat, and massive PvP battles for up to 80 players. Secondary features include “MOBA mode, private mansion parties, in-game weddings and guild wars”.
Let’s look at where World of Warcraft 8.2 gets things right and where things are either a miss or just not quite right. There will be some spoilers because the story is a big part of this patch. Now that you’ve been warned let’s start with what’s right about 8.2.
The Conan Exiles site has been updated with a brief, and undoubtedly welcome, post for players. From now through sometime in August, the decay timer has been increased to 14-days so that players heading off on vacation don’t have to worry about their structures going to ruin or, even worse, becoming “abandoned”.
From July 2nd through July 30th, Tree of Savior players of level 50+ are invited to head to the Reset Helper. Doing so will reset all of a player’s abilities to allow them to try out new class combinations by acquiring a Stat Reset Potion and Class Change Vouchers. This can be done once per day for the duration of the event.
The latest Astellia trailer showcases The Colosseum, an enclosed space where parties of players take on ever-increasingly difficult waves of monsters. The goal is to reduce the number of monsters as quickly as possible which challenges party members to perform their roles successfully. Luckily, resurrection is automatic so players can rejoin the fray.
It appears that the Fallout 76 battle royale mode, Nuclear Winter, is a big hit. So much so, in fact, that there are a lot of new features and improvements coming over the course of the next few patches. The latest Bethesda blog post begins with a look at the Nuclear Winter mission statement: “Create a PvP game mode for Fallout 76 that allows players to jump in and have a fun experience in 20 minutes or less.”
World of Warships Legends has been updated to bring Xbox One and PlayStation 4 captains tons of new content to explore. Players can now try out the German line of ships along with seven German Commanders. In addition, the new Search & Destroy! Campaign has launched that brings new rewards and challenges to console captains. Players will also find the Service Record features, Commendations and modified map spawn configurations added.
With Fortnite Season 10 prepping to begin on August 1st, it appears that a major bot battle may be the opening event. The People’s Daily, the “mouthpiece” for the Chinese government, has published a number of proposed rules to regulate game content. The published draft is a collaborative effort between Chinese governmental agencies and several gaming corporations including NetEase, Perfect World and Tencent. Under the proposed rules, gamers would be divided according to age (below 6, 12, 16, 18+), each category with its own subset of ‘guidelines’.
