Today’s a huge day for Albion Online with its free to play launch. Veterans and the new generation of players will be able to enjoy all of the numerous updates made to Albion since launch, up to and including the recently released Oberon update. F2P doesn’t mean that development stops either. Sandbox Interactive has big plans for large updates throughout 2019, so it’s a great time to dive into the innovative game world.
Geralt Will Finally Debut in Monster Hunter World for PC in May
On May 9th, Monster Hunter World PC players will finally be able to take part in the MHW / The Witcher crossover event. Geralt will arrive on May 9th when the event goes live along with a new patch. Players will enjoy Doug Cockle reprising his voice acting duties as Geralt who will have “new mysteries to solve and gear to craft”. Players will be able to craft the “Geralt full set of armor” and the “Witcher’s Silver Sword” during the event.
Red Dead Online Updated with Plunder Showdown Mode
Red Dead Online players have a new Showdown Mode to check out this week thanks to the arrival of Plunder. Essentially, players work in teams to locate and fight for supplies in a central location, then return them to the team’s base. Players can also pillage opponent’s bases for even more supplies….if they live.
Big Things Are Happening in Closers Leading Up to Bai’s Release
Bai doesn’t arrive in Closers until April 23rd, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a ton of other things to do in the intervening days. First, beginning this week, players can register their Bai and reserve her name. They can also take part in the Divine Battle Celebration, the New & Returning Player Event, check out A Rift in Time & Space, see & earn new costumes and peruse the new additions to the EMP and BITNA stores.
Wurm Online Updated with 6-Months’ Worth of Changes & a Memorial to a Fallen Dev
Wurm Online has received a massive patch that includes, according to the developer post, “6 months’ worth of changes going live”. Players will find a number of reworked systems and brand new features to enjoy. Included in the mix is the new fishing system which was created by senior developer “Tich” who sadly passed away before she could see it go live. Developers completed the fishing system in her honor and have placed an in-game statue of Tich fishing.
Travel Through the Wormhole in Skyforge’s Latest PC Update, New Horizons
With the arrival of the New Horizons update to Skyforge on PC, players will be traveling to a brand new planet to experience the game’s largest map to date. The fate of Terra rests in the hands of players as they take on a new race of enemies and explore the planet to learn more of its secrets. Players are charged with eliminating threats and collecting information during their travels. New Horizons will be out for PlayStation 4 and XBox One on April 11th.
Neowiz Bless Studios to be Dissolved & Merged with Neowiz Parent Company
Though always a part of Neowiz, Neowiz Bless Studio was specifically tasked with Bless Online. However, its struggle to gain a foothold through a variety of regions and reboots has turned it into a liability. According to MMOCulture, Neowiz Bless Studios will be dissolved and absorbed into its parent company, Neowiz. Bless Unleashed is being developed by a different subsidiary, Round 8 Studio and is not affected by the merger. What impact this will have on Bless Online is unknown.
TERA’s Skywatch: New Heights Update Shakes Up the Game in Big Ways
With the arrival of today’s TERA update, Skywatch: New Heights, players will be able to experience a ton of new content as well as rise to a new level cap of 70. Players will find a number of heavily reworked systems in the game that change how players access dungeons. Additionally, the new Skill Advancement and Gear Fusion features have been added to provide players with more customization options than ever before.
Starpoint Gemini 3 Official Gameplay Trailer
Starpoint Gemini 3 isn’t scheduled to launch until later this year, but the developers want to show off a bit of gameplay to prime player’s excitement. Set 30 years after the events of Starpoint Gemini 2, the game shows players that, while the universe has changed, nothing stays the same forever. Players take on the role of Jonathan Bold, an adventurer who “doesn’t give a damn about the universe or its problems”.
