New Commanders Will Find a Lot to Like in the Next Elite: Dangerous Update

Entering Elite: Dangerous as a new commander can be a daunting experience, but Frontier has plans for that. On April 23rd, a new Beginners’ Zone will debut that is considered a training ground of sorts for those just joining up. It can only be accessed by new pilots “until they earn their first Combat, Trade or Exploration rank”. Missions will be handed out “that even the smallest of Sidewinders can complete”.

Ashes of Creation Team Conjures Up a Blog About Scientific Nodes

Continuing its examination of the Ashes of Creation Node System, the developers have published a new post that reveals a very specific type: Scientific Nodes. It is a node type that is “special in comparison to the others”. Scientific Nodes appear in three locations throughout the game world, specifically around locations that “focus the Essence” that flows throughout. These nodes will feature “sprawling questlines and rewards for crafters, gatherers” and others.

Destiny 2 to Jump Into the Revelry Starting Next Week

Starting next week, Guardians in Destiny 2 will be able to jump into spring with both feet when The Revelry event kicks off. The event is specifically designed to celebrate spring at the Tower. Players will be able to get hold of an Exotic weapon and will revisit the Verdant Forest, a mashed up version of the Haunted Forest from the Halloween event last year. There will be lots to do within, including killing bosses, taking out trash and more. Of course, a number of bounties will be offered too.

World of Warcraft Devs Preview the Crucible of Storms

The World of Warcraft site has been updated with a preview of the upcoming Crucible of Storm mini-raid. Crucible of Storms consists of two bosses with the Normal and Heroic difficulties unlocking on April 16th and the Mythic and Raid Finder difficulties opening on April 23rd. Players will face off against the Restless Cabal, a very Old Gods-themed duo tied to N’Zoth. Once defeated, players will turn their eye to Uu’nat, Harbinger of the Void, a Naga with ties to Queen Azshara and N’zoth.

Daybreak Reassures the Z1 Battle Royale Community After Retaking Development

Up to last week, Z1 Battle Royale was being actively developed by NantG. After a round of layoffs from the Z1 team, Daybreak retook creative control of the game. Earlier this week, the team posted a brief note of reassurance to the Z1 Battle Royale community to let them know that servers will remain up, the name will not be changing and that they are hoping for “minimal disruption to the game’s service”.

Blade & Soul to Reduce Servers to 2 on April 24th

On April 24, the Blade & Soul servers will be reduced from five to two. Yura will be the NA server, while Jinsoyun will be the EU server after that date. The buying and selling of gold via the Currency Exchange will be disabled a few days prior to the merger, so players should get their exchanges done before that date or wait until after the 24th.
