Everyone has a fighting chance
Blizzard is showcasing its Overwatch cosplay community with the Overwatch Cosplay Battle. The competition lasted three months with six teams of three cosplayers showing off their skill at creating the perfect look for their favorite Overwatch characters. The competition ended with a Grand Prize Winner chosen by Blizzard artists and cosplay professionals. Fans also selected a community favorite.
Tomorrow, Gearbox will finally reveal Borderlands: Mask of Mayhem. To help hype the conversation, Gearbox released a minute-ish long video to pave the way for the livestream that will start at 11:00 am Pacific / 2:00 pm Eastern in the Gearbox Twitch channel. The video doesn’t contain any gameplay, but it does reveal some familiar faces and ends with “Mayhem is coming”.
Fortnite Battle Royale has been updated to 8.20 that brings a new Limited Time Mode into the game that literally gives players a hotfoot. Called Floor is Lava, players are going to have to keep moving and try to defend their spot on the high ground away from the burning depths. It’s a “spicy new LTM”.
When the Torchlight Frontiers team goes live for a streaming event later today, they will be showcasing the latest additions and improvements to the ongoing beta test. Of particular note, viewers will learn more about a new system to be added to the game called “Contracts” that is “a new seasonal event system offering exclusive rewards by completing the Empire’s thematic quests”.
Closers has been updated to allow players of level 83+ to add Wolfgang to Task Force: Veteranus that gives him a new “tier of power”. Players can also look forward to a number of cosmetic additions and the April Fool’s Event Dungeon that runs through April 23rd. Players can earn April Fool’s crafting materials and much more.
Reto-Moto has sent word that Heroes & Generals has been updated to bring the new “Capture and Hold Tank” mode into the game. During this 8v8 event, players are fighting for a single control point along with AI infantry units. In addition, players can look forward to UI improvements, a more balanced recon vehicle assortment and the newly-added Korean localized version.
The latest Heroes of the Storm event has landed in-game and it’s a brand new one at that. Called Caldeum Acropolis, the event sends players on a journey into the future where four gangs are duking it out for control of the Acropolis. Players will find new quests that reward special Caldeum Complex Loot Chests that can contain futuristic skins, epic mounts, sprays, icons and even a chance at previous years’ limited-time Lunar New Year Spring event items.
The Crowfall site has been updated with a look at the War Tribes system that will bring complex challenges to players as they “try to wrest control of the world away from the gods and stave off their inevitable destruction”. War Tribes can take the form of military encampments, tribal villages, abandoned villages. Usually these will be fortified by enemies that have banded together to scavenge resources and they can be found anywhere within the game world.
As part of BioWare’s commitment to “continually update and add to the shared-world action shooter” in Anthem, a new patch has been deployed that brings a number of much-requested action items into the game. This includes the ability for players to re-experience Legendary Missions on a much higher difficulty level and the addition of new Elysian Caches that will show up at the end of Strongholds.
If you’ve been dying to travel to the wilds of Scandinavia, today’s release of Generation Zero may be just the ticket. The game is considered an open world action game for PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC where players are transported to 80s Sweden where the local population has disappeared. Up to four players can play together or the game can be enjoyed solo.
