When iMovR approached us about reviewing their Freedom Energize Compact Standing Desks, I immediately honed in on the word “compact.” That has never been a word that would describe me. However, with the promise of motorized height adjustment and the ability to match it to my need, it was time to find out if I could benefit from such a desk, both seated and standing. Let’s find out.
Variety is reporting that Electronic Arts is laying off 350 employees out of its 9,000-strong staff. EA CEO Andrew Wilson wrote, “Today we took some important steps as a company to address our challenges and prepare for the opportunities ahead. We have made changes to our marketing and publishing organization, our operations teams, and we are ramping down our current presence in Japan & Russia as we focus on different ways to serve our players in those markets.”
This past week at GDC we got the chance to join Elder Scrolls Online for their Elsweyr Update. In the demo we got to play the Necromancer and see a dragon. Two of the biggest additions coming to the game. Here are some of the take-aways from where ESO is going.
As the Saga of Lucimia team ramps up to the first alpha experience, a video was published last week that offers a first-look at the questing system. Release 12, currently slated for April 5th to 7th, marks the beginning of the game’s alpha phase of development and “Stage 2” as the team focus.
Funcom will be launching a new “cosmic horror game” called Moons of Madness at Halloween this year. While cool in and of itself, it’s also got a nifty tie in to Secret World Legends. Main protagonist Shane Newehart is a “technician stationed at the Invictus, a secret research base built by the Orochi group”. Moons of Madness will be out for PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC in October.
From Software is best known for the Souls series of games which have caused more than one person to rage in a fury over how hard they can be. Its newest game starts fresh in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, set in feudal Japan featuring a lone Shinobi seeking to rescue his lost Lord. Will this new game be more of the same or something unique and worth the price of admission? This is our review of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. But really, it’s more like “you’ll die a thousand times”.
Launch day has finally arrived for Path of Exile on PlayStation 4. It’s been a long time coming, but today’s a big day with the launch of Grinding Gear Games’ critically acclaimed ARPG. The best part? It’s free to download and play and it includes all of the content that has been released, including the Synthesis expansion that launched for PC earlier this month.
The latest Robocraft update has been deployed that paves the way for Season 2 coming to players on March 28th. This update includes weapon ranking, leaderboards, weapon and movement balancing and much more.
From now through April 28th, Vindictus players can register for a special package in celebration of the game’s 14th hero, Eira. The package includes a full armor set, two outfits, a title, an additional elite character slot and other in-game goodies to celebrate “the Void Witch”.
With the launch of v4.56 for Final Fantasy XIV, players will see the events of the Stormblood expansion come to a close as the stage is set for the Shadowbringers expansion coming July 2nd. Players will find more adventures with Hildibrand, enjoy some new emotes, earn new items and those at end game can take part in an 8-player fight against Yojimbo. Between now and the July release of Shadowbringers, more features and content will be released including a FFXV crossover event on April 16th.
