Albion Online players will be able to take part in some haunted happenings during the first-annual Halloween event. Cities have been decorated appropriately with fallen leaves, jack o’lanterns and other “spooky props”.

Albion Online has been updated with the release of the Joseph content expansion. This is the first significant update since the release of the game in July. Joseph brings new content to bear in the form of Arena Mode that allows players to face off against others in 5v5 matches. In addition, the Eternal Battle Expedition has been added along with updated Treasure Sites.

Albion Online will be receiving its first major update since launching in July when “Joseph” goes live on September 27th. Anchoring the update is the new Arena Mode that pits teams of five against one another in a control point style match. Players can enter the arena via random matchmaking or with friends, guildmates or queue solo. The winning team will score Arena Sigils that can be traded with others or used to purchase rewards.

The Albion Online team has published a brand new article to provide players with a look at what is currently in the works with regard to the next two major updates, Joseph and Kay. In addition, a less detailed look beyond the next two updates is revealed that lays out the basic framework of the game’s progress throughout the coming months.

Albion Online players hoping for some relaxing action this weekend were frustrated by a series of DDoS attacks on the game’s servers and, according to devs, even included a ransom demand from the perpetrators. The attacks resulted in widespread disconnects and even server outages throughout the weekend that appear to have been solved as of today.

Albion Online Launch Patch #1 has been released that brings a number of technical fixes into the game to address some of the issues players have faced in the weeks since launch. Changes to cities have been addressed by placing “hot spots” into their own maps to ease the pressure in those areas.

Since the launch of Albion Online nearly two weeks ago, the game has been plagued with a number of issues, most pertaining to server hardware. In a new post today, the team acknowledged the major problems and what will be done in short-term, mid-term and in the long run to bring these problems to a close.

Today is a big day for Albion Online as the launch sequence has hit GO! Legendary Founders and Legendary Starters can now enter the game world to stake their claim. Epic Founders and Starters will be able to join up on Tuesday, July 18th with Veteran Founders and Starters ready to hit the ground running on Wednesday, July 19th.

After a recent forum kerfuffle, the Albion Online team has announced that Founders would be receiving all of the items for the corresponding tier of Starter Packs which are currently on sale now that servers are down and the sale of Founders Packs have stopped. Initially, Founders would have received the items purchased prior to July 9th, but many were upset that the new Starter Packs included items and mounts. In addition, they will receive 10% more gold on top of the original amount.

From now through July 10th, anyone who has yet to purchase a Founder’s Pack will want to do so. On July 9th, beta servers will go dark to prepare for launch on July 17th, though Founder’s Packs can be purchased through July 10th.
