Black Desert Online has been updated with a new event that may bring about seasonal allergies. The Cherry Blossom Event allows players to pluck as many as five cherry blossoms per day. Collect enough and these blossoms can be traded for Memory Fragments, Magical Black Stones for both armor and weapons or for any one of four special items. In addition, players can purchase a Cherry Blossom Seed that eventually becomes a fitting piece of home decor.

Not long ago Pearl Abyss announced that they’d be remastering the graphics of Black Desert Online. During this week’s Game Developers Conference Silicon Studio CEO Takehiko Terada presented a video that shows some of the before and after looks of BDO using the “YEBIS” graphic effects.

Kakao Games has sent out a cool infographic to celebrate the first NA / EU anniversary of Black Desert Online. Interesting tidbits include the population stats with NA at 1.8M and EU slightly behind at 1.5M. Each has nearly 100k characters of level 56+ as well.

Kakao Games has sent word that Black Desert Online players will be able to take off playing the incoming Dark Knight class beginning on March 1st. Starting today, everyone can log in to create and customize their Dark Knight so that she can hit the ground running on launch day next week.

The Black Desert Online forum has a new post that describes a number of issues that have cropped up in the game since the last update. A couple of have already been resolved via hotfix but others are still present in the game including what amounts to a sink hole in Shakatu’s Territory.

The latest Black Desert Online update has been released that brings the Valentine’s Day event on line. On the big day itself, a romantic fireworks show will be viewable at various times throughout the day. But even more interesting is the first-ever Popularity Contest that encourages players to vote for their favorite NPC by giving them hand-crafted (with LOVE!) chocolate.

Kakao is preparing to unleash the Dark Knight in Black Desert Online. The new class is coming to the game in March! Dark Knights utilize both melee and ranged magical attacks using a two-handed sword.

Black Desert Online will be expanding today with the launch oof the Margoria update that brings an ocean of content into the game. Players will be able to adventure both on the high seas and under them. In addition, ship construction, guild vs guild naval warfare, underwater monster hunting, improved cooking, new quests and much more are packed into the Margoria expansion.

Pearl Abyss’s Daeil Kim, the Black Desert Online game director, was interviewed recently during the Taipei Game Show and revealed some interesting plans for the game. Now that all Awakenings have been deployed in Korea and in Western markets, the team is considering a second Awakening for each class perhaps starting as early as this year. This may also apply to trade labors.
