Total War Arena is an interesting entry into the overall franchise. While not a fully fledged Total War game, it strives to turn the historically large scale single-player battles from previous entries into set piece battles you play a smaller role in with other players. How does the team at Creative Assembly do in accomplishing this? Results are, unfortunately, mixed.

– Looting the Crates
Been in games long? Well then you have seen every possible payment model known to mankind. Now the ESRB is finally getting involved and talking about setting up warning labels for loot crates. Here is a hint, warning labels on anything never stopped people from getting what they wanted. If anything it could make the problem worse. However, we have to start somewhere.

– Trove is the Most Original MMO Right Now
Often in the MMO world, we get a little tired of seeing the same game released by different companies and called something new. There are gems that try to break the mold, but few really just go for it. Perhaps it’s the general freedom afforded by the IP and visual stylings, but the bravest MMO on the market right now is none other than Trion Worlds’ Trove.
– Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age PC Review – Ivalice Never Looked So Good
In many ways, Final Fantasy XII really established the nature of the series we can still see with newer releases such as Final Fantasy XV today. – A Glimpse at Medieval Life
If you’ve ever wondered what life would be like if you lived in the middle ages, Warhorse Studios has your answer. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a sprawling open-world RPG in the vein of Skyrim but one that casts fantasy to the side in exchange for realism. It’s an amazingly detailed look at Bohemia in the year 1403, but does this commoner’s tale stack up to the open-world RPGs it’s trying to emulate?
– REZZED: The Most Important MMOs Of The First Modern Decade
We’re bringing back another blast from the past from our friend Richard Aihoshi. In his column from November 2014, he talked about the “first modern era” of MMOs, namely the seminal games released between 1996-2005. Some of these games are the ones many of us cut our MMO teeth on. It’s a fun look back, not only at 2014, but at the ancient days of yore stretching back into the last century. See if his thoughts still hold true today!
– Hunt: Showdown Closed Alpha Impressions
Hunt: Showdown’s concept had me intrigued ever since I first got wind about it last year. You and a partner are Hunters tasked to hunt down a monster in a hauntingly beautiful map by following clues using your Dark Sight (think Arkham Asylum Detective Mode). Along the way, you’ll have to avoid gloriously grotesque creatures who are all trying to kill you. In short, find monster. Kill monster. Banish monster. Evacuate.
