Funcom has announced that Conan Exiles will be entering early access for PC players beginning on January 31, 2017. In addition, an XBox One version has been revealed with a preview being prepared for spring 2017. In honor of the big news, Funcom has sent out two and a half glorious minutes of game play action. Check. It. Out.

As part and parcel of today’s media dump, the Conan Exiles site has been updated with a brief developer blog that lets fans know that the game is on track for Early Access beginning in January 2017. According to the post, more creatures, tools and items have been added and the lore has been fleshed out.

The Conan Exiles Facebook page has been updated with some new screenshots that show off improvements in both graphics and artwork over the preceding few months. The screens show off a variety of locations throughout the game world, including a cool shot underwater.

In case you’ve been wondering what’s up with Funcom’s Conan Exiles, a Hyborean survival title in the making, you may want to head over to the game’s official Facebook page. On it in the past couple of weeks, several screenshots of new hair tech, creatures, monsters and even the Altar of Yog have been featured.

Earlier this week, Funcom’s Joel Bylos posted a brief note on the Conan Exiles Facebook page that let players know that, despite hopes of bringing the Early Access version of the Hyborian survival title to Steam in September, the team feels that it needs more time to flesh out its vision for the game world. As a result, Early Access will kick off in January 2017 instead.

Fans looking for Conan Exiles will be happy to hear that Funcom is making its original Early Access release window by opening the game on September 13th when the Steam version will be opened for business.
