The Elder Scrolls Online crate season themed around Storm Atronach has been retired to make way for this new season’s crates. Called “Wild Hunt”, each crate contains uniquely themed items such as the Wild Hunt Bear, Camel, Guar, Horse, Senche or Wolf mounts and the Wild Hunt Aura or Transform. This season also brings other collectibles, some retired or even new furnishings for your recently acquired digs.

GameSpace.com has a new interview with Elder Scrolls Online Game Director Matt Firor. In it, he answers a number of questions about Morrowind, the forthcoming Warden class, ESO Plus membership, Homestead, ESO’s longevity and a lot more.

We’ve received word that console Elder Scrolls Online players can now go claim a part of Tamriel thanks to the launch of the Homestead update. With Homestead, players can immediately get hold of a small home via an initial quest line that will then unlock the ability to eventually own up to 40 instanced homes, all of which are unlocked account-wide.

Zenimax is taking The Elder Scrolls Online expansion, Morrowind, on the road to Pax East. Attendees will get a chance to try it out and see for themselves things like the new Warden class, get a taste of the story and engage in 4v4v4 PvP Battlegrounds.

At an Elder Scrolls Online press event, Matt Firor confirmed to our own Bill Murphy that the game is sporting 8.5 million players. At E3 2016, ESO had 7 million players and has grown by 1.5 million since then. This number is based off of units sold and is not simply a tally of registered accounts.

The Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with a handy FAQ for those who are interested in learning about furniture crafting. Anyone, even non-homeowners, can take part in creating furniture to sell to other players. As players accrue recipes (similar to cooking recipes), they can access them at any crafting station to start making furniture provided the correct materials are on hand.

Every Elder Scrolls Online player can own a bit of the game after the launch of the first big DLC of 2017, Homestead. After clearing a special questline, every player will be handed the keys to their own home that will then unlock the ability to purchase additional home across Tamriel.

After the conclusion of our Player’s Choice Award for Best Overall MMO of 2016, the results are in. Elder Scrolls Online has taken the top spot with nearly one-third of the overall vote. Second place was taken by World of Warcraft, third by Black Desert Online.
