What better way to celebrate the fourteenth birthday of EVE Online than with an update that brings new features into the game. In honor of launch day, aka Capsuleer Day, CCP has unleashed new content with the Blood Raider Shipyards, new Blood Raider capital vessels, newly updated stars, the ability to apply Alliance logos to Citadels and changes to the PLEX system

EVE Online is turning fourteen this year (or 5,114 days!), a monumental achievement for an ever-evolving game. As part of the celebration, players will find some pretty cool stuff to redeem in game: a special Capsuleer Day skin, a Festival Launcher, Barium / Copper / Sodium fireworks. These items can be claimed through May 23rd.

When Tuesday’s update hits EVE Online, players will find a number of big changes coming to the PLEX system in order to, as the developers wrote, make it more flexible. The team felt that PLEX has become “cumbersome” to buy and trade due to being associated with a 30-day game subscription amount. The first change is to alter the value of one PLEX into 500 PLEX. The goal is to make selling smaller PLEX packages and trading amounts more streamlined.

The EVE Online forum has been updated with a post from Team Phenomenon to introduce players to “the next phase of PvE content”. Blood Raiders are expanding their operations with a new production facility and several new ships. According to the post, players may encounter this production facility as well as any number of smaller ships in surrounding areas.

During last week’s EVE Online FanFest, CCP games announced that older Starbases and outposts would be phased out in the near future and that each would be updated over time. According to a new post on the official forums, the time for the transition is nearing and the team wanted to provide players with information about how this would work. Starting in May, new construction of several Starbase structures will stop with further plans to take place in August.

If you missed the Icelandic EVE Online Fanfest, you’re in luck as EVE Vegas 2017 is still coming. Scheduled for October 6-8, 2017 at the Linq Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, tickets are already on sale through Eventbrite. You can get full event tickets for $225 (or early bird for $195 — super early bird and release of tickets offers are already sold out) or just the party on Saturday night for $80.

EVE Online will be sending out the new Blood Raider pirate aligned Molok warship, literally a floating mausoleum that can store up to 100,000 human corpses…in a meat locker. The ship will arrive as part of the May update and will run approximately 400 billion ISK. Putting it into perspective, the current most expensive ship in the EVE galaxy is the Titan that sells for around 100 billion ISK.

A new (and admittedly colossal) blog post has cropped up on the EVE Online site that lays out every little detail you might ever want to know about the upcoming FanFest…and maybe a few things that you didn’t know…but will! The blog provides information about when badges can be picked up, when the keynote takes place, what panels you can attend and much, much more.

The EVE Online site has been updated with an impressive list of patch notes for a planned update scheduled for Tuesday, March 14th. It includes some usual balancing changes, bug fixes as well as improvements to UI, Scanning system, Rorqual, Mining and much more.

EVE Online organization, Imperium, has sent out the numbers for this years Burn Jita event. Burn Jita challenges pilots to inflict massive losses through the destruction of enemy ships. During the event held from February 24-26, 140 Freighters and over 300 lesser ships were destroyed collectively inflicting over 776B ISK damages, the real world equivalent of about $15,000.
