Big E Gaming is bringing you another round of the classic series Northeast Championships this weekend. This year’s NEC moves slightly away from Philadelphia proper to King of Prussia (yes, it’s the name of a town!) at the Radisson Hotel/Valley Forge Casino. It’s a new location, but you can expect that same gathering of players from the Northeast beyond, ready to show off their stuff. The event has some big pot bonuses, including $10,000 towards the Mortal Kombat tournament, from WB Games; $3000 towards the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Battle Royal 2015, from Team NINJA; and a $1000 cosplay contest. The party lasts all weekend long, from Friday through Sunday, so check out what’s going on!

Without any sort of public beta outside its recent appearance at PlayStation Experience, fans looking forward to King of Fighters XIV have had to do a good deal of theorycrafting with regards to strategies that may be possible in the upcoming game. Thankfully, comparison videos and first-hand experiences from folks like Laban have made that a little easier.

With information on how King of Fighters XIV’s Max Mode functions in early builds, Frionel put together a lengthy video showcasing how it would affect combos in King of Fighters XIII. While obviously not a clear indication of what will be possible in the next installment, it’s still an interesting watch that could provide a foundation for further discoveries.

Though he will never be quite so strong in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as he was in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Meta Knight can still put up a fight. In his latest video, My Smash Corner takes Dreamland’s caped swordsman for a spin, demonstrating his potential when in the right hands and offering advice along the way.

Meta Knight’s up air (repeated ad nauseam) to Shuttle Loop is easily his most notorious combo, bringing the fighter kill potential at unexpectedly low percentages thanks to how high he can carry his target. In the video below, you’ll learn all sorts of ways to get this series of swings going, as well as a handful of other strategies to score extra damage.

While many are ready to put Ultra Street Fighter IV out to pasture, dedicated players are still producing some excellent content. MrDustKicka is one of those players, and he recently released what may be one of the most stylish combo videos ever.

By combining custom outfits and dramatic angles captured with lullius’ Camera Man mod, MrDustKicka was able to create an exhibition unlike anything we’ve seen for Ultra Street Fighter IV so far. Even if you don’t get a kick out of lengthy combos and tight execution, you’ll definitely want to check this out for the visuals alone.

It would appear that FGC: Rise of the Fighting Game Community isn’t the only documentary coming our way next year.

Earlier this morning, the folks at Last Stock Legends dropped a brief trailer for their upcoming project centered around the latest installment of The Big House, an annual Smash event located in Michigan.

Last Stock Legends: The Big House 5 will explore this year’s event, checking in with notable Smashers like organizer Robin “Juggleguy” Harn, Liquid’s Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma, and Joey “Lucky” Aldama along the way, to get a sense of its importance in the community and what it takes to put on such a tournament.

Be on the look out for this documentary’s release sometime next spring.

As part of their coverage of Capcom Cup, IGN caught up with a handful of the high-level competition’s participants to ask which characters they hope to see in Street Fighter V.

Some answers stay pretty basic, like RB|Snake Eyez request for Akuma, but folks like l|NuckleDu and RZR|Infiltration mix things up a bit by asking for Skullomania, Oro, and more.

Please note that these interviews took place before Capcom officially announced the next five characters, so folks asking for Juri are sure to be happy next year.

While we might not see any surprises until 2017, feel free to let us know which characters you’d like to see in Street Fighter V after it launches for PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16.

One of Street Fighter’s most iconic moves is Ryu and Ken’s Shoryuken, also known as the Dragon Punch. Heck, it’s even the name of a certain fighting game website you may have heard of.

That said, have you ever wondered what would happen if you were ever actually hit by one square in the jaw? Well, wonder no more thanks to this brand new video from AMC and Vsauce’s Jack Roper.

The results are, interestingly enough, quite gruesome, looking more like something out of Mortal Kombat than Street Fighter.

The folks behind Churning the Butter have just gone live with another installment of their weekly tournament series, taking over Folsom Street Foundry in San Francisco, California to host Ultra Street Fighter IV for local players.

Tonight, instead of the normal singles competition, Churning the Butter will play host to a 3-on-3 tournament.
