Thanks to a brand new update and a PC port on the way, the Killer Instinct community has had quite a bit to celebrate over the past week. From a competitive standpoint, however, their excitement is sure to boil over during the next round of high-level tournaments, starting later this month with Community Effort Orlando 2015.

As part of an initiative to give back to the community, Microsoft Studio s and Iron Galaxy Studios have ponied up an incredible $15,000 for the event, and now we have a clearer look at how that dough will be split. According to Microsoft creative director Adam Isgreen, the top sixteen finalists are all set to see a portion of that prize pool, with the first place finisher receiving at least $7,500.

Community Effort Orlando 2015 is scheduled for June 26-28. Online registration will be open through this Sunday, June 21, after which you will have to pay extra to register on-site. The results are in! After ten days of voting, the player invitation vote for GODSGARDEN 10 has come to a close. Of the many candidates, two each for Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND will claim a spot in the main tournaments.

Congrats to FAB, Efute, Konan, and Galileo for their high placements (and condolences to Dogura, who just missed the cut for both games!). Their popularity has landed them a spot in the main bracket. The remaining six spots for each tournament will be filled during the preliminaries the day of each event.

GODSGARDEN 10 is scheduled for June 27-28.

For arcade stick enthusiasts, one of the best things about Evolution is the number of exclusive arcade parts that are made for the event. This year looks to be no different as the event has partnered with Sanwa Denshi and Arcade Shock to bring fans a special set of exclusive Evolution Championship Series arcade stick parts.

This exclusive set of OBSF-30 buttons and white Sanwa Denshi LB-35 balltops will be available only at Evo 2015. Only 100 of each part will ever be made and each will come in its own special Evo packaging, making this a must have for collectors.

These parts will be available at Arcade Shock’s booth at Evo 2015 starting on June 17. Anyone looking to pick a set should make sure to hit the booth as early as possible before they’re sold out.

Although Mortal Kombat X’s popularity exploded on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at launch, the PC port was hampered by some rather glaring issues, many of which extended in to the early parts of the following month before being corrected. Due to the mess created by third-party developer High Voltage Software, NetherRealm Studios eventually had to step in themselves, and it appears as if their latest solution has introduced yet another entity to clean things up.

Recent changes in Mortal Kombat X’s data indicate that Polish company QLOC S.A. is currently in the process of making background changes to the Steam title. While the name may not be familiar, the studio has had their hands in many titles over the past few years, including Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition and Street Fighter x Tekken’s respective PC ports.

According to QLOC’s website, they are capable of handling projects in need of porting and quality assurance, which definitely fits the bill for Mortal Kombat X. In fact, they may already be familiar with the Steam version, as a press release put out by fellow SoftClub affiliate Cenega in April mentioned that the team was in charge of porting the title to areas like the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, and their native Poland.

We are currently unable to confirm if High Voltage has been completely removed from development or if they are just receiving a helping hand from QLOC. At the time of writing, we have received no response from any of the individuals involved, though it’s likely the hustle and bustle of E3 2015 is keeping them busy. We will be sure to update this article should we hear back.

In any event, this is great news for fans of Mortal Kombat X without access to a home platform, and hopefully the lingering issues see some relatively quick clean-up from this fresh set of eyes.

After numerous multiple-tournament weekends, fighting game action is set to narrow down to a single event over the next couple of days, but that doesn’t mean competition will be any less intense.

South East Asia Major has grown by leaps and bounds since it launched in 2012, and this year’s installment is ready to put those that came before it to shame. As a premier stop on the Capcom Pro Tour, the brackets are full of killers looking to earn automatic entry into Capcom Cup later this year. Some of the more notable players you can expect to see in attendance include Mad Catz’ Daigo Umehara, Tokido, and Mago; Kim1234, Shiro, KichijojiKEN, and Super Santarou Man of YUBIKEN; AVerMedia’s Gamerbee; Xian, Fuudo, Itabashi Zangief, RB, and Gackt of Razer; QANBA’s Xiaohai and Dakou; Humanbomb of Canada Cup Gaming; Evil Geniuses’ Momochi; Nemo of The Black Eye; Falcon Arena’s Big Bird; Kindevu; Chuan; MOV; Dark Jiewa; Dogura; Eita; Pugera; Kazunoko; Infiltration; Marn; Misse; Poongko; and Bonchan. And that’s just for Street Fighter!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, BlazBlue: Chronophantama EXTEND, Mortal Kombat X, and Tekken 7 are also set to receive some love, so don’t think it’s all about Ultra Street Fighter IV.
