Persona recently uploaded the final version of their NESTS Kyo Kusanagi combo video, and it’s an encapsulation of everything that we’ve come to expect from the combo master. The video includes twelve devastating combos that have reached the peak of optimization.
You may recall having seen a previous collection of EX Kyo combos from Persona earlier this year, but this version of the video features some slight alterations from the previous upload, including new combo technology that is perhaps best explained by Persona:
I nearly perfected EX Kyo’s combos the first time I made his video but there was something I noticed that was missing from the video and that was an extra backdash down C. Although people may think that both versions of Kyo are exactly the same in regards to normals, EX Kyo’s jump down C is pretty much the same from the older KoF games unlike normal Kyo’s. You can notice that normal Kyo’s jump down C shows him swinging his arms in an arc while EX Kyo’s arms almost instantly swings down which allows EX Kyo to get in an extra backdash down C unlike normal Kyo (which seems to be too slow). Also it seems no one knows about EX Kyo being able to get both hits of his qcf BD after his kick rekka ender. Just simply delay his rekkas so the opponent is very low in the air to get both hits. Other than those two big differences in this version of the video, I just added some random (not so useful) tidbits like showing uses of his ground qcf AC extensions and whiffing his Neo Max and still being able to combo afterwards.
If you’re looking to test your combo mettle, Persona has included a full transcript of inputs in the video’s description. Good luck!
