It’s a sad fact of tournament-running that not every match can show up on the official broadcast for folks at home to see, especially at an event like this past weekend’s NorCal Regionals 2015. As a premier event on the Capcom Pro Tour, players from across the world converged on Sacramento, California in an attempt to earn automatic qualification to Capcom Cup 2015, leaving a handful of matches out of reach for those who weren’t able to be there in person.

Fortunately, more and more people are starting to step up and record these off-stream matches. A helpful community member by the name of Joser captured a number of notable Ultra Street Fighter IV sets, both from the pools stage and later on during the top thirty-two bracket.

We’ve included a few of these videos below, which feature competitors like Snake Eyz, Pandora House’s HooDaMan, iPeru, John Choi, and Ricky Ortiz of Evil Geniuses, but you can catch more on our official YouTube channel if you’re still itching for Street Fighter action.

Plenty of characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U get powerful follow-up options to their throws. Perhaps the most infamous are the down throw to up air and up throw to up air options that Diddy Kong brings to the fight, but he’s far from the only one to benefit from tossing opponents skyward.

In the video below, My Smash Corner outlines the options that Luigi has when following a down throw as well as the correct ways to apply each of these options.

In addition to offering up a plethora of Luigi combos, My Smash Corner does an excellent job outlining how the combo system in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U works. He details how weight, fall speed, size, and percentages affect strings as well as how to deal with directional influence as both the offensive and defensive party.

Granted, this video does focus on Luigi, but newcomers to the Smash series should definitely give it a watch even if they don’t main Mario’s brother just to get a better grasp on how all of this plays out.

Lab Zero recently had their first Skullgirls: Encore Salty! broadcast for the month of April. This edition focused mostly on new updates for Robo-Forune, the game’s upcoming DLC character.

The big news is that Robo-Fortune now has a second special move: a mid-air beam attack that goes in two directions. In addition to this, lead programmer Mike Z also gives a few more updates on her as well as the status of Beowulf whose patch has already been submitted to Sony for certification. Sadly, Microsoft certification for the grappler is going to take a bit longer due to “minor issues,” but Beowulf otherwise complete.

If you caught last night’s segment of the Ultra Street Fighter IV top 32 at NorCal Regionals, you got to see Liquid|NuckleDu and r/Kappa.FGC|Infiltration face off in one of the most exciting Decapre mirror matches to date. There were periods where the footsies dance between the two grew so intense that neither one seemed to touch the ground as they threw out scramble variants and aerial spiral arrows to vie for spacing control.

And it seems that the Decapre hype just continues to build. Combo music video extraordinaire, cjbqulix, has released another reel, this time featuring the masked fighter herself in all her combo-heavy glory. As with previous offerings from cjbqulix, this video involves plenty of creative use of the character’s kit, including some hurt box abuse against large targets as well as a few unique methods of applying the Psycho Stream Ultra.

Last month we learned that series veterans Tanya and Rain will be making appearances in Mortal Kombat X–the former as a playable character made available as downloadable content and the latter as an assist character in the game’s Test Your Luck and Kustom Kombat modes. Until now, we hadn’t seen much of these characters besides a handful of screenshots and, in the case of Tanya, a brief appearance in the game’s DLC trailer.

Below, you’ll find a video from D’Vorah’s chapter of the game’s extensive story mode which includes fights against, you guessed it, Tanya and Rain. Given the nature of any gameplay footage that comes from outside of official NetherRealm Studios offerings, there’s not much to anticipate as far as proficiency with the game is concerned. We do, however, get to see how these two fighters handle themselves when their lives are on the line.

Since both kombatants are devoid of text which denotes their variations–certainly expected from Rain–this footage likely comes from an early build, and anything seen here is subject to change. Even so, it’s nice to get a quick look at a little bit more of what the game has to offer fans once it hits shelves in just over a week.
