Goro Breaks Skulls and Belches Fire in His Own Mortal Kombat X Trailer

While poking around Amazon.com, Mortal Kombat fan HatesideVids discovered a trailer for Mortal Kombat X’s resident Shokan, Goro. Since this trailer only covers a single character, it’s remarkably short–clocking in at right about 45 seconds–but it’s filled with plenty of footage of Goro busting heads. Given the fact that NetherRealm Studios has planned a five hour stream dedicated to the character later this afternoon, there’s a good chance that we weren’t supposed to see this footage just yet, but you can check it out below.

From the trailer, we can gather that the series veteran has access to his usual array of fireballs and attacks that make good use of his extra limbs and they look even more brutal than ever before. If you want to catch even more Goro action live, including a complete character breakdown, be sure to tune in to NetherRealm Studios’ stream today, starting at 1PM PDT, 4PM PDT.

Jiyuna Lists Down the 5 Major Mistakes That Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Players Make

In every game, players tend to develop shared habits and tendencies due to how the game’s mechanics work. That said, falling into these habits and tendencies may not always be beneficial for high level play.

In his latest video, Jiyuna takes a look at Persona 4 Arena Ultimax players and breaks down the 5 biggest bad habits and mistakes that players make. The mistakes here oftentimes cost players their matches. Even so, many of these habits are quite simple to fix.

Give the video below a spin and check if you make these mistakes.

Pepopulo Demonstrates How Amaterasu Can Work With Dante and Vergil In Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

When considering point characters to add to the team of Dante and Vergil in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Amaterasu isn’t usually the first name that comes up.  However, it seems that the Sun Goddess actually does have some good synergy with the two half-demons from Devil May Cry.

In his latest video for the game, Pepopulo demonstrates just what Amaterasu can do when paired with these two. The video below contains a good number of highly optimized combos, building good meter while dealing damage. Additionally, one of the combos does enough to take out Thor, the character with the highest number of hit points in the game.

Lord Knight Demonstrates How To Use Fuzzy Jumps in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

One very strong defensive technique in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is the “fuzzy jump.”  Using this allows players easily defend certain strings and setups that lead into a throw (and possibly more combos).

In his latest video Lord Knight explains the theory behind these fuzzy jumps and demonstrates how players can learn to apply them in game. Additionally, he also shows how to stop opponents who try to use fuzzy jumps.

HB|Dustin Pairs Up M.O.D.O.K. and Amaterasu in Newest Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Combo Video

Last week, Dustin of Hitbox Arcade put out a video that showcases how well Doctor Doom’s Hidden Missiles assist pairs with M.O.D.O.K., and the various means of making the most of that assist. Yesterday, Dustin took a similar approach to Amaterasu’s pairing with the Marvel villain, and it seems that the Goddess’ Cold Star assist can be used for similar combo extensions.

Below, you’ll find a collection of combos that offer a close look at how this pair can turn all sorts of different combo openers into big damage for little meter expenditure. Just like the old saying goes, a Sun Goddess truly is an evil floating head’s best friend.

Latest Killer Instinct Textual Stream Serves Up Piping Hot Info Surrounding Cinder and Ranked Leagues

Cinder Concept Art SMALL
The most recent Killer Instinct textual stream is hot off the presses and loaded with information on Leagues, as well as the upcoming character, Cinder.

Viewers who caught a brief glimpse of the fiery fighter at the end of Hisako’s launch trailer last week likely noticed that he is no longer simply a “dude on fire” as Microsoft Studios representative Ishmae1 notes. While he did lose the pure, simple form that fans used to know, he has gained much that makes him truly stand out as a character beyond something akin to a victim of Dhalsim’s Yoga Fire in the early days of Street Fighter II.

But those who do prefer the clean lines of Cinder’s classic look will find peace in the fact that the team is currently developing a version of that skin for use, which you can see below.
Cinder Classic Skin Work in Progress
A new look demands a new back story, and Cinder has received that as well. Ben “Cinder” Ferris served a wildly successful term in the military which he followed with a career in the exciting and dangerous world of paramilitary contracting. His skills landed him in good standing with his bank account, but bad standing with plenty of important people. When tasked with stealing information regarding Ultratech’s “Project Cinder,” Ferris uncovered mind-boggling secrets including signs that pointed to the extraterrestrial nature of the information that he sought.

Sadly, the Killer Instinct team still isn’t ready to divulge the nature of Cinder’s move set, as he is still very much a work in progress.

Additionally, fans of Killer Instinct’s online ranked leagues will be pleased to learn that a few changes have been implemented:

  • We have adjusted the score system to make the climb from Bronze to Killer more challenging (requires better win/loss ratio).
  • In Killer vs Killer matches, we have added a ‘catch-up’ mechanic to the scoring system, which will give you more points when defeating a player higher up in the Killer ladder than you.  After winning a match, just watch your points go up to see if you crushed someone higher than you. The base is still +50, but if it was someone really ahead of you, you could earn up to 1,000 points! Top guys, you are officially on notice, everyone is now gunning for you- hunting the top Killers just got very profitable!
  • We also want to acknowledge the many requests for an option to Rank Down.  We hear you loud and clear, this is something that we are looking into for the future along with other changes to help make your experiences within the different Tiers better.

As with their previous textual streams, the team ends this segment with a lengthy Q&A. To check out the Q&A, as well as to learn even more about the upcoming fiery fighter, head over to the official Killer Instinct forums to take a look at the original post.
