Koefficient analyzes the assists of all 20 base characters in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

The news just keeps coming in for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. Today’s breakdown from Koefficient covers nearly all of the assists for the 20 base roster characters. Similar to a project done for Dragon Ball FighterZ, a Google document has been created with GIFs and descriptions of all three assists each character possesses, with the exceptions of BlazBlue’s Iron Tager and Persona 4 Arena‘s Yukiko Amagi — of whom we’ve only seen two assists from so far — with their third attacks still remaining a mystery, for now.

To accompany this, BlazBlue content creator Koefficient has released a video where he runs down the document, providing a bit of analysis of each individual assist one by one. He also speculates how powerful or weak these moves could make each character in the long run. You can see the full video below, and get a link to the full Google document here.

What do you think about the assists in the game so far? Do you like the ones that have been chosen for your favorite characters, or would you have preferred something else? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below. You can also find new information about the title’s “Episode Mode” here, as well as checking out some new gameplay footage from GameSpot Gameplay.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on Thursday, May 31st in Japan, with a North American release for the same platforms following on Tuesday, June 5th.

Koushun details the mechanics of light moves, guard cancels, and special cancels in Sailor Moon S

Sailor Moon S is a game that looks simple at face value. However, the technical nuances are deep enough that you could go over it for hours and not touch everything.

In this short video from Koushun, we see several details about the basic mechanics of the game. Much like throws in the game, light attacks have shorter ranges based on which side you are facing.

Much of the wealth of information in today’s video comes from its discussion of guard cancels, and how it can impede block strings.

Catch the exciting The King of Fighters 2002 tournament action from Fuerte Beatdown IV

This weekend was great for The King of Fighters community. Not only did we see some of the top North American players for the series come out to Fuerte Beatdown IV, but we saw some of the older titles get a lot of love at the event.

The King of Fighters 2002 has long been considered one of the best games in the franchise, and its heavy damage and crazy setups make it exciting to watch. This made the last stretch of Fuerte Beatdown — which features Luis Cha, PachuKOF, and Simba — an exhilarating set of matches from start to finish.

Blanka (or at least his Story costume) is welcomed to Street Fighter V via the #BlankaChan meme

Before Blanka was in Street Fighter V, he was in #BlankaChan.

Blanka
Blanka Story Mode

Blanka — for better or worse — arrives in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition today, once the server maintenance is completed. The spark-blasting furball has already gotten a big social media boost in advance of his in-game arrival, thanks to his goofy/adorable/terrifying plushie Story mode costume! Twitter users immediately started putting plush Blanka into all sorts of settings, their hilarious results grouped under the #BlankaChan hashtag (before, and after @StreetFighter actually provided the .png to play with). We’re sharing some of our favorites below; while you wait for that patch to download, have a good chuckle at what fans have been doing with Blanka’s crazy costume (and a bit of Photoshop).

Have fun with Blanka tonight, everyone!

Dragon Ball FighterZ roundup: Gohan 4-way mix-ups, assist rankings, and more!

It’s another day in West City, and that means we’ve received more Dragon Ball FighterZ video submissions! We have some interesting exploration with auto-combos as reset tools, and various mechanic breakdowns to round out today’s post. Let’s jump in!

Starting us off, BlaQNYC Vids shows off the 4-way mix-up potential of Kid Gohan’s auto-combo.

HapkidoRed sent in two massive Cell combos (and one Goku Black, because, you know. Everyone has a Goku Black.)

Speaking of Cell, rooflemonger gives us a breakdown of his many perfect moves…

… and he’s provided a thoughtful breakdown on the strengths and weaknesses of each assist.

He’s also broken down the mix-up situation that occurs after 16 lands his light command grab: helpful to know for those playing as — and fighting against — the robo-grappler.

Y. Xiao shows off some on-point Piccolo combos, including Hell Zone loops and a few 100% combos.

If that wasn’t enough Namekian for you, Adriano Lopes has his own takes on Hell Zone useage.

Get your squad ready, because everyone on the team is involved in ArcBueno‘s Ginyu combo video.

As always, if you see anything worth sharing, let us know by submitting a tip for our next roundup. Thanks everyone!
