Armada discusses the misconceptions surrounding tech-chasing in Super Smash Bros. Melee

A lot has been made of tech-chasing in the Super Smash Bros. Melee community. While some have called it optimal play, three-time Evo champion Armada has decided to correct this error.

Tech-chasing requires players to predictively follow their opponents on their knockdowns and recovery in order to punish them — and there’s still some risk involved. If you’re wrong, you yourself could get punished and lose a stock in doing so. Reads allow you to make guesses that may lose you spacing, but keep you safer in the long run.

Learn all of Dragunov’s unsafe moves in this punishment guide for Tekken 7

Dragunov is easily one of the best characters in Tekken 7. His combos and damage potential have been on full display on the Tekken World Tour, thanks to Echo Fox|JDCR’s oppressive play on the circuit.

Tekken, however, has been a game where even top tiers can be easily beatable with knowledge — regardless of your character of choice. As such, this video shows you all of the frame properties of Dragunov’s unsafe moves. They also go over some of his moves that are capable of being interrupted. While it’s up to you to find your punishes for your own character based on the frame disadvantage, it shows even the top tiers can be exploited.

Take over the world with CrossUPDP’s max damage combos for Street Fighter V’s Bison

Street Fighter V‘s M. Bison might not have the greatest walk speed in the game, but I’m not sure many Bison players would trade for better at this point; the true power of the Dictator comes from his pressure and giant damage, the latter of which is on display in CrossUPDP‘s latest combo video.

If you can find a way to pick and choose your spots, then SFV’s head-honcho can cash out for big rewards. CrossUPDP’s latest tutorial breaks up these big combos into screen position and meter-spent, so you can easily see for yourself how Psycho Power can rule over all in Street Fighter.

Touhou Sky Arena is coming to Nintendo Switch

For fans looking to play Area-ZERO’s Touhou-based arena fighter Touhou Sky Arena: Gensoukyou Kuusen Hime Matsuri Climax on the go, the only option so far has been on PlayStation Vita. However, that’s about the change as Area-ZERO has announced that they are porting the game to Nintendo Switch.

Originally developed on PC, Touhou Sky Arena first hit consoles via PlayStation 4 in May of 2016, before hitting PlayStation Vita in September of that same year. The Switch version represents the first time the game has hit a Nintendo console.

The game itself features 20 playable characters from the Touhou franchise, and allows up to four players to play together online. In addition to this, the game features a unique “Tension System” that reacts to when a player’s actions are aligned with the game’s music.

The CFN Portal is currently holding a massive Street Fighter character popularity poll

Capcom is currently running a character popularity poll through their CFN Portal site. If you’ve ever wanted to send a message about what character keeps you coming back to the Street Fighter series, now’s your chance. And if your tastes are a little more refined, this poll likely has you covered: there’s characters ranging from the Street Fighter EX series all the way to Street Fighter 2010‘s final boss, Dr. Jose.

There’s no indication that this vote is for any larger purpose, other than fun — but given that Street Fighter V‘s Season 3 is just over the horizon and this is an official Capcom poll, it won’t hurt to let your voice be heard if you want to see your favorite character return to the spotlight, in some form or another.

You can vote in the poll here. The poll runs from today until November 5th, 2017, with results being announced January 16th, 2018.

ZeRo talks about his battle to stay on top in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and the hate he receives in doing so

Team SoloMid’s Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios has been one of the most dominating forces in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Having won 56 consecutive events, he has set himself up as the undisputed king of the game. That, however, has left a massive target on his back — and combined with his usual main (Diddy Kong), playstyle, and past public persona, it’s also made him potentially the most hated figure in the game.

In an interview with Kotaku, ZeRo discusses the toll on his life his Smash domination has taken, with him recently having to hire a bodyguard upon receiving death threats. He also discusses his past issues with bullying that have continued into his career, as well as his win-or-die mentality from early in his career that has helped perpetuate it.
