The Koopa Kings Come Out to Crush the Competition in this Bowser Project M Community Montage

Gathering clips from Bowser players from all over the world, the Project M Bowser Discord has created this special combo video, made of the best clips of the Koopa King styling on his foes. While Bowser is rated fairly low on the PM tier list, his ferocious hits and aerial command grab allow him to get some brutal edgeguards if his positioning is right.

Seeing clips from notable Bowsers like Can~D, Frost|Odds, SS|American Bowser and Jorge, you can see just how devastating this fire breathing turtle can be when he gets going. If you are at all inspired to try Bowser out after watching this community combo montage, poke your head in the Bowser Discord and learn how to play the Mario villain properly.

If you want a recap of this year in Project M, give reslived’s 2016 retrospective a watch, as it charts the efforts of the PM community to keep the game thriving after development officially stopped.

Guile’s Dash Critical Art is Possible in Street Fighter V, and desk Shows Us How to Do It

In the Street Fighter IV series, Guile–along with any other character with charge Ultras and Supers–were able to execute their Supers or Ultras immediately following their dashes. This resulted in many things, full screen projectile punishes, as well as other punishes and combos that were otherwise not possible. For Guile, that allowed him to Focus Attack Dash Cancel into Ultra 2 after a flash kick.

For a long time, it looked like this technique had been removed from Street Fighter V. That is, until desk and TOOLASSISTED got their hands dirty. They found that if you perform three forward inputs in the dash, as opposed to the two that was required in SFIV, then charged dash Critical Art is possible with Guile. This opens up a whole new world to Guile mains.

It does appear that Juri has some strong anti-airs in the new season. Not only that, but she can juggle for a solid amount of damage off a simple crush counter anti-air or air to air, as discovered by Kim Hyun-ku.

As a bonus, here is a solid 40% meterless Juri combo based off both normal hit and crush counter.

Stylish New Qanba Obsidian Fight Stick Appears, Pre-Orders Now Open

Qanba adds another fight stick to its PlayStation collection.

Following up on the Qanba Crystal and more recently the Qanba Dragon, another stick is joining Qanba’s PlayStation 3/4/PC arsenal: say hello to the new Qanba Obsidian: sleek and stylish in its simplicity.

The Obsidian shares much in common with its Dragon Big brother: Sanwa Denshi OBSF buttons and JLF stick (with a metal balltop), touchpad, headphone jack, a tournament lock switch, and LED accent lighting; however unlike the Dragon (or Razer’s new Panthera) it does not feature a lifting top panel for easy access. Nor does it share the Dragon’s premium price tage: it instead matches the Panthera at $199.99 USD. It is PlayStation 3 and 4 compatible, and PC-compatible via X-Input and D-Input drivers.

theScore Esports Talks About Why Older Players are Excelling at Street Fighter V

While the young guns are turning up in droves to take major events–with players like Phenom, John Takeuchi, and NuckleDu leading the charge–there is yet another demographic that is doing exceptionally well in Street Fighter V. That group is the older players who have been around the scene for decades, proving that age is only a number when factoring into how competitive one can be in the game.

Why is this so true? Daigo Umehara, one of the old guard who is showing his dominance in Capcom’s newest title, believes the answer lies in the similarities to Street Fighter II, and top older players’ adoption of title due to these situations. In an article from theScore, Shinya Onuki concurs, stating, “SFV is very close to Street Fighter II, and the movement and combat systems are very close to that game as well, so my skills are still applicable.”
