If you’re in the mood for a little holiday fun Final Fantasy XIV-style, you’re in luck. The Starlight Celebration is slated to start on December 15th and run all the way through December 31st. During the annual event, you’ll be able to take part in a quest starting with Amh Garanjy in Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre if you’re over level 15+. You’ll score a Christmas tree, a commemorative poster, a Santa bear, some food sets and an orchestrion roll for your efforts.

Final Fantasy XIV – Free Log In Campaign Begins, Runs Through January 4th
If you’ve been waiting to check back with Final Fantasy XIV to see all that’s changed since your last log in, this month is a golden one for you. From today through January 4th, you can play for up to 96 consecutive hours. There are a few requirements including having an inactive account for at least 30-days and having had an account in good standing.

With yesterday’s v4.15 update to Final Fantasy XIV, players can now take part in the new Rival Wings PvP encounter that literally brings MOBA styled gaming into FFXIV. In addition, new performance actions have been added, improved usability for colorblind players has been included, new items are now available as well as new achievements and much more.
Final Fantasy XIV – Rival Wings PvP Brings MOBA-like Gameplay to FFXIV
When the 4.15 update launches, the Rival Wings: Astragalos encounter will launch with it. The preview on the Lodestone offers players a brief history lesson of the contested zone, as well as the basics of the fight. Essentially, each of the two teams will begin in its own starting zone and will be charged with protecting its core. The goal is, of course, to destroy the opponent’s core first.
