Fortnite – Survive the Storm Patch Notes Published

With today’s launch of the Fornite “Survive the Storm” update, it’s worth taking a look at the published patch notes to glean a bit more information before heading into the game. During the new content, players will be pitted against the storm for two weeks necessitating the stockpiling of all the goodies needed to survive a deadly storm and deadlier monsters.

Fortnite – Over 500,000 Digital Copies Sold Prior to Launch

Fortnite Creative Director Darren Sugg sent out a tweet yesterday to reveal that the game had sold over 500,000 digital versions of the game prior to yesterday’s Early Access launch. Of course, that doesn’t include yesterday’s sales or retail sales, so that number should be significantly higher.

Fortnite – Early Access to Begin July 25th, Founder’s Pack Sales Begin

Epic is finally ready to unleash Fortnite on the world. Early access is now scheduled to begin on July 25th, though anyone purchasing a Founder’s Pack can get in starting July 21st. Founder’s Packs run $39.99 for the Standard Edition, $59.99 for the Deluxe, Super Deluxe for $89.99 and Limited Edition for $149.99. Each comes with a number of in-game items and unlocked heroes.

Fortnite – Surprise! Quiet Announcement Reveals 2017 Release Date

Epic Games Tim Sweeney made a surprise announcement at this week’s Game Developers Conference: Fortnite will be heading to live service in 2017. Technically he said “in the year ahead” but later confirmed that 2017 is indeed Fortnite’s year. According to attendees, the announcement came as a shock and without the usual game convention hoopla.

Fortnite: Core System Overhauls Coming In v7.0

Epic Games has sent word that the 7.0 update to the Fortnite alpha will be incoming soon with a number of significant changes to core game features. Players can look forward to a new static skill tree with specific regard to upgrading buildings and sub-buildings. The Home Base buildings have been completely removed.
