The Heroes of the Storm team has unleashed a new developer blog that compliments a pair of videos released late last month that show off the new traits and abilities soon coming to both Raynor and Azmodan. Each will have a trio of new talents that should dramatically alter their gameplay. They’ll be coming to the Nexus in July.

Heroes of the Storm – Secrets of the Storm Comic Hints at World of Warcraft Faction Conflict
The newest Heroes of the Storm comic has arrived that very obviously ties in to the World of Warcraft faction struggle coming in Battle for Azeroth. Interestingly, the WoW pre-patch event is called War of Thorns and one of the central characters in the comic is the Lady of Thorns, a character seemingly on the side of “good” in the Nexus. She alludes to one of the “Nexus realms” being in danger of falling to the Raven Lord’s “evil”.
Heroes of the Storm – Echoes of Alterac Map is Now Live in North America
North American Heroes of the Storm players can now try out the Echoes of Alterac map that brings a whole new way of playing into the game. Players will find multiple objectives to complete and a fitting champion awaiting them should they manage to finish the objectives and break down the final gates. On one side General Vanndar Stormpike for the Alliance and on the other is General Drek’thar of the Frostwolf Clan for the Horde.
Heroes of the Storm – Unlock Rewards Just by Watching HotS Twitch Streams with Your Linked Account
The Heroes of the Storm site has been updated with some new ways for players to unlock loot chests just by watching Twitch streams. From now through July 12th, fans can check in on Twitch streams to earn Heroic or Rare chests. In addition, players can unlock Alterac portraits and even receive free chests from eligible streamers during the giveaway period from June 14-July 12.

The Heroes of the Storm forum has been updated with the news that another round of bans has been handed out to those who “regularly go AFK, refuse to participate, or intentionally and repeatedly die” during HotS matches. There is no count of how many were removed from the game, but some players are complaining that matches are harder to fill.

The Dark Nexus is the next Heroes of the Storm content drop that is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, May 1st. This begins fulfilling the promise made earlier this year that more would be revealed about the lore and story behind HotS. As part of the lore, a new “cannon comic” called “Rise of the Raven Lord” has been released that provides background on why he has begun summoning forces from the Dark Nexus to help defeat what he perceives as a dark future in the Nexus.
