ARMS version 3.2 is out now — here’s everything that’s changed

ARMS much-awaited version 3.2 patch is finally out on Nintendo Switch. Despite being an incremental patch, the update adds some significant features such as an achievement system, and a replay list.

In addition to the aforementioned features, the update also adds some minor fixes, including some control changes for replays, as well as bug fixes. One big addition is that of the robotic Spring Man clone that challenges players during Grand Prix mode.

Of course, the update also brings with it some balance changes to the games cast. For those interested, you can check them out, alongside all of the other changes in the patch below.

Arc System Works is bringing indie fighting game Slice, Dice & Rice to PlayStation 4

As Arc System Works is gearing up for its annual Arc Revolution Cup tournament, they released some surprise news: the company is planning to bring indie fighting game Slice, Dice & Rice from Steam to the Japanese PlayStation Store. This winter, Japanese users will be able to download the game for PlayStation 4 under the name Zan! Zan! Zan! (Kanji meaning kill/decapitation).

The game will be playable at Arc Revo as well. Dojo Games’ Slice, Dice & Rice originally released for PC this April. It features multiple characters, with a brief story mode. There are no health bars in the game — rather, a duel can be decided in one clean slash, unless it’s parried, or the hit clashes. There’s also a wound system, and aerial movement.

There’s no information yet on a Western release of this game on PlayStation 4. However, you can purchase it on Steam now; read up on our Slice, Dice & Rice review for more impressions.

US PlayStation Store catches up to Japan’s DLC mobile suit selection for Gundam Versus; 12 suits now available

Even more mobile suits join the battle in the West.

As Gundam Versus launched a while later in the West than its initial Japanese release, we’ve been left a bit behind on the DLC front — as new mobile suits were being gradually made available for the game before and after our own launch window. However, following the release of the Alvaaron and Buster Gundam suits in Japan on Oct. 17, five more suits have been added to the US PlayStation Store, catching us up to what was available in Japan and effectively synchronizing the East/West DLC.

In addition to the Virtue and Barbatos Lupus (which were also included in pre-orders, along with the pre-order exclusive Hot Scramble), Gusion Rebake, Pale Rider, Baund Doc, G-Self (Perfect Pack), and Perfect Strike (that were available as DLC upon the US release), the Phantom, Nightingale, Gundam AGE-1, Buster, and Alvaaron are now also available.

You can pick up any of the new (or prior) DLC suits for $4.99 USD each over on the PlayStation Store. Unfortunately, no signs of any discount bundles — or lifting of the Hot Scramble’s pre-order exclusivity — quite yet.

Get the full breakdowns on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’s patch 1.03 with rooflemonger and UM Tyrant

Earlier this week Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite received its first patch, updating the game to version 1.03. This update added the title’s first three DLC characters: Sigma, Black Panther and Monster Hunter to the game (available to play starting yesterday), as well as 21 premium costumes for both the DLC trio and over half of the main cast.

Perhaps most importantly though were the myriad of bug fixes and character changes, particularly to Spider-Man, Frank West, Dante, Dormammu, Captain America, Chun-Li, Chris Redfield, Doctor Strange, and the Mind Stone. You can view the full list of implemented changes here, but I’ve always felt that patch notes are always better when complimented by a dose of visual aid.

On that note, here’s some full breakdowns of all the changes, courtesy of rooflemonger and Unequalled Media’s Tyrant, showing off some of the setups and situations this update will be removing from the game — from the infamous Spider-Man infinite with the Reality Stone’s Infinity Surge and his Web Balls, to inescapable Mind Surge setups and previously untechable specials and Hypers, as well as some command grab setups from the big bodies that will be slightly less guaranteed due to the increased two frames of invincibility added to air techs. You can catch both videos below.

What do you think of these patch notes? Is this a good first start for Capcom when it comes to fixing the game, or are their other issues you’d like to see addressed in a future patch when Black Widow, Winter Soldier, and Venom are released before the end of the year? Speak your mind in the comments.

Western box art and battle guides revealed for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Square Enix recently revealed a number of things for the western release of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.  These are the box art for the game, alongside a series of battle guides for players looking to learn it.

The box art features a couple of iconic lead characters from the series. The Warrior of Light (the original Final Fantasy protagonist) is joined by Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII and Claire “Lightning” Farron from Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels. This box art will be the same for the regular and Ultimate Collector’s editions of the game in both the North America and Europe.

The battle guides, on the other hand, are a set of tutorial graphics that are designed to teach players the mechanics of the game. These include things as basic as movement, dodging, targeting, and blocking, as well as more advanced things such as summoning and even step canceling.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT hits PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 11, followed by North America and Europe on January 30.

New K.O. effects for Critical Art finishes revealed for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Amidst all of the pre-release hype for Zeku — who will glide into the game next Tuesday — we may have potentially learned about another aesthetic upgrade coming to Arcade Edition in January.

On the official Japanese Street Fighter V Character Page, Capcom posted a video of Zeku knocking out Menat with his Critical Art, Batsuzan Gaisei. Normally, this would just be a quick showcase of his Super, but Capcom appeared to accidentally upload the clip occurring in the upcoming AE build of the game, which will see a number of graphic overhauls made to the title.

In the clip (which was captured by X-Kira before its removal) we can clearly see the new golden hit counter, lifebars and timer that will be implemented in January, with the final blow punctuated by new golden triangle graphics, which flash across the screen for but a quick moment, before giving way to new blue K.O. letters that quickly transition to gold.

However, when the video was uploaded to Capcom Japan’s YouTube channel — where it is currently set to private —  it lacked any effects, merely showing the CA animation and Menat’s Japanese K.O. cry. We’ve included both videos below for the sake of comparison.
